Very scenic area with lots of activities available. Very friendly people willing to assist you with any questions you had. We didn’t partake of the public transportation, but it was free and ran often throughout the local and nearby areas …a definite must in the winter. The nearby town of Ketchum had a whole lot of variety stores to occupy your shopping needs & two full service markets.

There are a lot of great ski resorts in the United States, but none can match Sun Valleys rich winter sports history – this was literally the nations first destination ski resort, with the worlds first chairlifts, where the very idea of the American ski vacation was born. Sun Valley changed the paradigm, and immediately became a hot spot for the biggest celebrities, the most important VIPs, and the worlds best skiers , and they have all been coming back ever since.

Sun Valley was an anomaly in 1936 and still is 80 years later, retaining a distinctive character that sets it apart from just about every other major ski resort in the country.
