Trip Report For A Week In Tucson
I haven’t seen many trip reports so I hope someone can find this useful. A little about us: We visited in mid November and enjoyed perfect weather. We are early 50’s and very active. Most days we walked/hiked over 20,000 steps. We are not foodies, but we do like to try local restaurants and dishes.
We landed in Tucson shortly before noon on Saturday. We were quite hungry so our first order of business after gathering luggage and getting our rental car was lunch. We headed downtown and settled on Fired Pie. We headed to our hotel in the foothills to see if we could check in early and the hotel was very accommodating. We changed clothes and went out to explore. When we travel we enjoy visiting college campuses so we walked around the University of Arizona for a couple hours. It was a great way to stretch our legs after a long drive to the airport and our flight. We returned to our hotel. The pool was a bit too chilly, but the hot tub was wonderful. Our hotel also offered a cocktail hour which we enjoyed before heading out to dinner. We stopped at Nordstrom Rack and then we went to El Charro Café Ventana location. We had a wonderful meal! The carne seca enchilada was incredible! We were pretty tired so we turned in for the night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tucson and would love to go back and try more hiking.
