We stayed at Hotel Capstone 6/6/2015 – 6/10/2015. Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and updated/recently renovated, very convenient as Hotel Capstone is located on campus at 320 Paul W Bryant Drive in Tuscaloosa, AL across the street from the Univ of Alabama football indoor practice facility, nice hotel restaurant/bar on the 1st floor near the lobby that served a full breakfast, good hotel parking lot, nice outdoor pool/patio, we received excellent service during our entire 4 night stay, hotel rate was reasonable. In my opinion, the nicest place to stay in Tuscaloosa! Hotel Staff were all very nice. GSR Brian Altman at the front desk and Stacy at the restaurant were very professional and friendly!More

Stayed here for our sons camp and had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Capstone! All staff was friendly especially in the restaurant. We had a few drinks at the nice bar area and Madison our bartender was very friendly and helped us get our phone fixed in our room so we could order room service. Over all great stay and GREAT location. Only down side was closing time for pool.

Most Come To Experience The University Of Alabama
Most come to experience The University of Alabama – whether for a campus tour or to witness ultimate football greatness! We actually came for a U15 soccer game this trip and this hotel is very convenient to the Sokol Park fields . Tuscaloosa United team and their parents were absolutely delightful – club director was sketchy and we had horrid refs! However this hotel is also in a fantastic location to come to experience all the other entertainment that TitleTown has to offer including Arts Festivals and concerts at The Amphitheater, as well as the revived downtown. There are fabulous shops and restaurants and ‘watering holes’ just steps from this the Homewood Suites. Highly recommend!

Great location in the heart of Tuscaloosa walking distance to all restaurants. Close to college but 10-15 minute drive. Prices tend to be much higher than most other hotels, lobby is beautiful for hanging out but rooms are only standard – furniture nicked and rooms not inspected weekly… expect more for money and price.

Great Places To Stay For An Alabama Game
Alabama football games are an event. However, you can have fun at the game and then face a long commute back to places throughout the region. People routinely drive from Tuscaloosa back to Atlanta or Nashville after a game. I no longer possess the constitution for such a late night driveand let us be honest, most football games have become night games under the new SEC television package. Traffic returning to Birmingham ranged from good following San Jose State to tolerable after Mississippi State to intolerable following Penn State. The drive to Birmingham was more than enough to exhaust me after a long day. So, most of the places around Tuscaloosa are snapped up early, what about places to stay in Birmingham? This year, I made the effort to stay at places around Birmingham just to help Alabama fans in search of the best hotels.
Michaels provides a nice dining experience right in the hotel. We enjoyed a pre-game lunch on one occasion and a dinner on our other visit. The lunch burger was enormous and tasty. For dinner, the food was good, but the highlight had to be a Cabernet Sauvignon by Liberty School. It was exceptional.
The great thing with hotels like Aloft and Embassy Suites is that the hotels work for football weekends, or romantic getaways when you leave responsibility behind and escape to focus on more important things.

I Was Told By Locals At Sams And Walmart Next Door Literally
I was told by locals at Sams and Walmart NEXT DOOR LITERALLY not to go out in evening because of crime, sirens all night 3 nights enough. The gates on property for safety are open all the time unless leaving at lunch, back gate was being closed manually. Nothing available on property but coke machine and rude desk guy managing it. He is the one who ran a weed eater by my Corvette, threw shrub clippings all over it. I told him 3 times to go somewhere away from my door. He argued instead. I was not in a nice non smoking 200sf room with a continental breakfast but was in what was worse than a low rate unsafe stay, not even a blow dryer, lotsa rust and alone.
