The Apache Hotel is one of the oldest and most historic hotels in Las Vegas. The rooms are smaller than what you see at other hotels in the area, but with rates as low as $35 a night during the week, you really cant complain. Even on the weekend prices hover around $100.
Apache is right across the street from the Four Queens, so the location is great. Amenities at this resort include free Wi-Fi, fitness center and a pool. Some of the premium rooms also have a refrigerator.
Is It Worth Paying Vegas Resort Fees
If your goal is to save big and still enjoy Vegas, you want to lean towards the hotels with no resort fees. This means that the total cost of your stay is calculated as advertised with no hidden figures. It puts you in a better place to bargain your expenditure while in this city of luxury.
However, if you are here to party and leave a mark on every spot you hit, you will need to be a little extravagant on your spending cuts. You will have a higher budget, part of which will go to cover for the larger-than-life clubbing and lodging. So go ahead and always budget for twice the advertised amount if you are going to attend Luxor or Wynn and the like
Why Las Vegas Hotels Have Resort Fees
Most hotels in Las Vegas charge a resort fee between $20-$45 per night, plus taxes of another 13%. So some hotels charge fees in excess of $50 a night, on top of the base room rate.
According to the hotels themselves, resort fees cover expenses for basic amenities that customer have come to expect . This seems like a decent justification for the additional charges, until you realize that the resort fees are mandatory even if you decline to use these amenities.

California Hotel & Casino
The California Hotel & Casino is ideally located nearby the Freemont Street Experience, the Mob Museum or the Las Vegas Premium Outlets-North.
The hotel provides more than 700 rooms with Hawaiian theme created by Sam Boyd.
The casino will please the gamblers thanks to its 1,000 electronic gaming machines, its sport book arena with 14 big screens televisions and traditional gaming tables.

4 Queenson Fremont Street: Opening in 1966 in the middle of what is now the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, 4 Queens has never charged a resort fee to hotel guests. Like Casino Royale, 4 Queens extends its value proposition to the gaming floor where low rollers are welcomed with open arms.
Binions Hotel Apache: Recently remodeled and re-opened after being shuttered for years, Binions Hotel Apache doesnt charge a resort fee. The boutique hotels 81 rooms hide behind the blue neon facade that wraps around the casino property, so there isnt much of a view. In fact, most rooms have stained glass windows that dont allow you to see through them at all.
Uniquely, guests at both Binions and 4 Queens have access to the rooftop pool that sits atop the old Mint hotel tower, providing great views of downtown Las Vegas.

Virgin Las Vegas: Fresh off a $200 million transformation from Hard Rock to the Virgin Brand, the resorts 1,500+ guestrooms and 60,000 square foot gaming floor are ready to wow guests. Another aspect of the property that is sure to delight is the absence of resort frees, as Virgin Las Vegas doesnt charge them.

Think About Your Location
There are over 30 hotels located on the Las Vegas Strip, but not all Strip locations are created equal. The Strip is four miles long, with hotels spread along its length, so if youre staying right down one end then youll have a long trek to reach the centre or the other end.
Frequent Deuce buses run along the Strip 24 hours a day which cost $8 for 24 hours. But traffic can make it slow going. So if youre limited on time and want to visit a lot of places then you might be better paying a bit extra to get a more convenient location.

Amenities at the Four Queens include an in-room refrigerator and laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is free in public areas, but you have to pay for it in your room . They also charge for parking .

Most hotels in Las Vegas add on a daily extra charge which isnt included in the room rate, whether you book direct or through a booking site. Resort fees at hotels along the Strip range from $25$45 a night before tax and you usually pay at the end of your stay.
Originally the fee was to cover extra services and some hotels do include extras like airport shuttles, local phone calls or fitness facilities but now it can be a sneaky way to up profits. Some hotels are more upfront about their fees than others, but always double check. For the hotels listed here, Ive included the resort fee in the price calculations so its clear.

Best Area To Stay And Hotel Without Resort Fees
Hi,Going to vegas on Sept 28 2012 for 5 nights and want somewhere good to stay that won’t put me in a poor house. I will rent a car as we want to do some driving during the day to hoover Dam and out to the desert etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated
Depends what’s going on and a rough idea of your budget and amenities you’re looking for will get you clearer recommendations as “good” is a matter of varying opinion. But without that…my personal preference is mid-strip, others prefer elsewhere. Mid-strip properties that are less likely to break the bank and have no resort fees would be Bally’s, Flamingo, Harrah’s…cheaper yet would be Imperial Palace. You may want to look at some hotels with resort fees as well, just do the math adding in the fees to see if they are close in price to the the no resort fee ones…you could look at Excalibur or Monte Carlo as possibly being in the same price range as the CET properties noted above.
I prefer Caesars Palace…dollar-for-dollar, best places to stay center of the Strip—Caesars, Flamingo, Ballys.
Best area? STRIP
Without a resort fee? If the price with the resort fee is the same or similar, who cares?

Best Western Plus Casino Royale
If being on the Strip is a must-have on your no-resort fee hotel wish list, meet the Casino Royale, which is a member of the Best Western Rewards program. Lets be clear about something: Youre getting a hotel room and a great location but not much else.
The hotel is across from The Mirage and next to Harrahs Las Vegas. Youll find a small on-site casino and some basic food options , but the real draw here is the great location the hotel is right in the middle of the Strip, with easy access to shows, casinos, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
If youre looking for something that qualifies as a nice or upscale hotel, this is not the place for you. Instead, consider the next option on our list: Marriott’s Grand Chateau.
How to book it
Best Western doesnt have a set award chart and prices for award nights can vary greatly. When searching for nights in the summer and fall, we found them as low as 16,000 points for weeknights and as high as 28,000 points on weekends. Cash prices will fluctuate in similar ways. We found rooms as cheap as $80 per night, all the way up to nearly $300 per night.
Book early if youre wanting to stay here. Availability into the fall was already pretty low during our searches in midsummer.
