Naxos My Personal Favourite Of All The Greek Islands For Couples To Visit
The beautiful island of Naxos is often overshadowed by its more well-known neighbours in the Cyclades, namely Santorini and Mykonos. But having been to all three, it isnt hard to pick a favourite. And thats Naxos. Honestly, this little gem is so underrated and stunning. And its nowhere near as expensive as its more popular neighbours.
Although its one of the best Greek islands for couples to visit, you wont be surrounded by other tourists on Naxos. Its quiet and unspoilt. And yet its aesthetic is pretty much exactly the same as the tourist-heavy Santorini, with the classic Greek white-washed buildings and streets lined with pretty flowers. The only difference is that you can enjoy all of this without being surrounded by people. Naxos is also the greenest of the Cyclades islands, so youve got lush mountainous backdrops and pretty little villages surrounded by verdant farmland. In the main town, Chora, theres a famous ruined temple thats perfect for sunset wanderings, a castle area with a maze of magical winding streets, and a great selection of cute independent shops to browse.
Oh and of course, there are countless little restaurants on Naxos serving all the delicious fresh seafood and local wine that you can possibly consume. I had the best Greek salad of my life in one of them. I still think about it to this day

Folegandros One Of The Best Greek Islands For Couples Who Want To Unwind

The tiny, serene island of Folegandros is the ideal place for a quiet romantic getaway. Despite the stunning scenery, from a hill-top church and a handful of outstanding beaches, wonderful Folegandros only sees a fraction of the tourists that visit its more popular neighbours of Milos, Naxos and Santorini. However, their loss is your gain. This hidden gem is the perfect place to relax and unwind for a few days .
The main village, named Chora like so many others in these islands, is typically adorable, an attractive maze of narrow alleys, whitewashed buildings and the occasional greenery-filled plaza. There is a good selection of terrific souvlaki places to choose from, many with evocative names, yet one of the best is the rather basically named Souvlaki Club. Seafood lovers will also be spoiled for choice. A popular after-dinner constitutional is the short climb to the Church of Panagia, where you can watch the sunset from its spectacular location looming over the village, or continue out to see the view from the edge of the dramatic cliffs.
