The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan is great for travelers looking for an over the top resort where every inch of the property is Instagram-worthy. The hotels signature purple hue can be found everywhere, from the lighting to the cushions on the chaise lounges by the pool. The walls of the guest suites are outfitted in cool gray wallpaper, and the accent pillows on the beds and couches come in jewel tones like emerald and azure. There are tons of food options, from the cheekily named all-day breakfast joint, EggSlut to the cool Bang Bar, a restaurant by celebrity chef David Chang. The Cosmopolitan is an adult playground with a 40,000 square foot concert venue and a world-renowned nightclub and day club, and the crown jewel of the resort is the Chandelier, a glittering three-level chandelier lounge set amongst thousands of shimmering beads. The coolest part? Each level has its own distinctly unique cocktail menu and experience.

Completely hidden from outside view and with a private, unmarked entrance, The Mansion at MGM Grand is peak Vegas exclusivity. Guests are chauffeured around in Rolls Royce Phantoms, and each of the 29 private villas has its own full-time butler. The price tag on a place like this is such that if you have to ask, you cant afford it .
The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Casino
So we arent big gamblers, we dont really know how most table games work but at The Cosmopolitan we enjoyed trying the many electronic operated table type games such as roulette. The Casino is big enough to give you options and opportunities to play your favourite games but not too big that you can get lost. The waitresses serving free drinks to those gambling were lovely, quick and efficient.

Red Rock Canyon Blue Diamond & mt Charleston
The far west valley of Las Vegas is a top destination for nature lovers, especially federally protected Red Rock Canyon, where colorful sandstone peaks attract bikers, hikers, and rock climbers. Detour to Blue Diamond to grab a bite at Cottonwood Station, a charming casual restaurant with great pizzas, or picnic at Howard Hughes old ranch, now Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Drive up to Mt. Charleson for cooler temperatures and snow covered mountains. Its a popular winter getaway for those who love skiing, sledding, snowboarding, or a warm cup of hot chocolate.
Summerlin Great Option Where To Stay In Las Vegas
Journey a little bit northwest of the Strip and youll find yourself situated in Summerlin a neighborhood a little closer to the Strip but with the same sort of natural attractions youd find in North Las Vegas or Henderson.
Red Rock Canyon Trail is probably the best known of these nature sites, and it offers enough miles of trail to keep you occupied for days.
There are 16 different trails dotting the nature preserve, and there are even camping sites if you decide you want to forego the hotel altogether in favor of roughing it out in the wilds.
But just because its a bit away from the Strip doesnt mean that there isnt plenty to offer the aspiring gambler. The Red Rock Casino is just a short drive from the Strip proper, but once you set up shop there, you could conceivably stay through the rest of your trip. In addition to all of the casino games you could expect, it also features a full service spa.
The more luxurious hotels tend to bear less extravagant themes and focus their attention more on spa facilities and golf courses, but there are plenty of smaller and chain hotels as well.
Once youve made your money at the tables, youll have plenty of places to spend it too. Tivoli Village is like nothing else in or around Vegas: a shopping district with a distinctly European theme.
Local and boutique brands are a focus here. But if you decide you want something more High Street, you should take a cruise over to Fashion Show Mall.

Is Las Vegas Open
Las Vegas is open to visitors, though, the experience may look different than you thought.
To reopen, casinos were required to submit plans outlining social distancing and hygiene measures to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Casino floors featured masked entertainers, handwashing stations, plexiglass barriers, and temperature checks. Crowded pool parties and jaw-dropping buffets are all on pause.
Expect temperature checks, enforced social distancing, contactless check-in, thorough cleaning, and new rules around dining and leisure. The state of Nevada also requires face coverings or masks to be worn in public areas. Because the pandemic situation is constantly evolving, you may want to read up on hotel cancellation policies, too.

Got $140/102 Try Paris Las Vegas
Up the budget a bit more and you can stay right in the heart of the Strip at Paris Las Vegas*. Its in a great location an easy walk to the main sights. The hotel has gone all out with the Parisian theme, with their own versions of the Arc de Triomphe and Louvre. And of course theres the Eiffel Tower with a big octagonal swimming pool beneath one of its legs.
I stayed in a huge corner room, done up in Versailles-era French style, with antique-look dark wood furniture, gold and blue decor and a pink marble bathroom. Although the rooms arent the most modern, they come with coffee maker and fridge, and mine had armchairs next to the window to make the most of the view of the Bellagio fountains opposite.
Paris Eiffel Tower is home to the Château nightclub on the lower deck and a restaurant and observation deck at the top. The resort has 15 restaurants in total, including a Gordon Ramsey steakhouse, East Coast Italian, rooftop bar and grill, Parisian crèperie, and the Mon Ami Gabi bistro which overlooks the Strip. The resort fee is $37 per night.
Other mid-range options on the Strip include Caesars Palace, Vdara and Mirage.

Is The Strip Where You Want To Be
Trying to decide where to stay on the Strip in Las Vegas is tricky as you have tons of options. Most people who come to Vegas for a quick vacation look to the massive casino-resort complexes the Strip is famous for.
Staying on the Strip is awesome, but it can be pricey. Rates here can vary quite dramatically depending on the night of the week. Not surprisingly, they are much higher on weekends. A night in one of the resorts on the Strip might be 4-5x the price on a Saturday compared to a Wednesday. Keep this in mind when planning your trip.
Another important thing to consider is those pesky resort fees. Most resorts in Las Vegas charge a nightly fee on top of the room rate, which can be up to $50. Its hidden in the fine print on some booking sites, so just be diligent and check the details. At least most of them still offer free parking for guests.
If youre looking for where to stay in Vegas for cheap, the Strip really isnt the place. Its hard to find a room for less than $100 a night here before resort fees. There are deals to be had, though, especially if you come on a weeknight and dont mind walking a block or two.
Heres a brief rundown of some of the most well-known spots on the Strip broken down into three zones: the south end, the middle, and the north end.

In the old days, the casinos along Las Vegass legendary Strip were cut-throat rivals. Each stood a long way back from the road, and was a dark, low-ceilinged labyrinth, in which it was all but impossible to find an exit. During the 1980s, however, visitors started to explore the Strip on foot. Mogul Steve Wynn cashed in by placing a flame-spouting volcano outside his new Mirage. As the casinos competed to lure in pedestrians, they filled in those daunting distances from the side walk and between each casino and the next.
With Las Vegas booming in the 1990s, gaming corporations bought up first individual casinos, and then each other. The Strip today is dominated by just two colossal conglomerates, MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment. Each owns a string of neighbouring casinos. Once you own the casino next door, theres no reason to make each a virtual prison. The Strip has therefore opened out, so that much of its central portion now consists of pedestrian-friendly open-air terraces and pavilions housing bars and restaurants.
Bemused by the options and wondering where to stay in Las Vegas? From the new PocketRough Guide Las Vegas, weve selected eleven of the best options on The Strip and beyond.
