Best Hotels In Sempione & Fiera
If you have gotten this far in my where to stay in Milan guide youll know there is one aspect I have yet to mention: football or soccer to those of you from the USA. The Italians love it, and Milan is the spiritual home of Italian football as Italys two most famous and successful teams are based here Internazionale and AC Milan.
So if youre coming to Milan to catch a match or to attend a fair then these are the areas for you. Not only are they close to the famous San Siro stadium where both teams play their home games and the exhibition center, but they also have a lot more to offer and are usually home to much cheaper hotels than those in the south of the city.

Porta Nuova And Porta Garibaldi
Porta Garibaldi is the second biggest station in Milan. From here you can catch a direct train to Milano Malpensa Airport .
You will need to go to the Central station for transportation to the other two airports
It is another great area to stay, especially if your flight is from Malpensa airport.
Only 30 years ago both areas were not great, almost to avoid at night.
Porta Nuova and Porta Garibaldi are today the new business district with innovative apartments complexes as the Bosco Verticale, two new residential towers with a vertical forest, and the new home of Google Italiaand growing, in a sustainable way.
Corso Como is the place to go for the day and nightlife. Its a pedestrian area with galleries, bars and boutique restaurant.
The disco club Hollywood is still very trendy, especially with celebrities. Try the Milan style pizza at Pizzeria di Porta Garibaldi, the base is higher and the topping selection is limited but the quantity of cheese is astronomical.
This is another area with great value accommodations. True, you will need to take the metro to reach the centre but you definitely want to be back to enjoy the aperitivo and dinner in Porta Nuova.
If you have an early arrival or a late departure from Milan and you do not know where to leave your bags then I suggest checking out LuggageHero.
This is a tremendous website listing places where you can leave your luggage meanwhile you visit the city. So handy!

Where To Stay In Milan
A complete guide to where to stay in Milan, Italy for one or two nights .
Booking.com
Milan is known as the capital of fashion and design thanks to international events like the Fashion Week and Furniture Fair. The city is also the home of the third-largest church in Italy, the Duomo Cathedral, and the world-famous artwork of Leonardo Da Vinci the Last Supper. Its a great destination for art, history or shopping lovers.
The city is divided into 9 administrative zones . Zone 1 covers all the famous sites and shops. In most cases, this zone is all you need. The zone itself consists of smaller neighbourhoods. Most of the tourist sites and shops are located in the central zone.
In general, you cant go wrong staying anywhere in zone 1. Still, I would recommend you to choose the North-Eastern areas. The metro stations are more and close to each other in these areas. After a long day of sightseeing, the last thing you will want is to walk one more kilometre to the closest metro station.
During my trip to Milan, I stayed near Corso Buenos Aires. I didnt stay here for the shopping . I chose the area because of its closeness to the Historic Centre and the Central train station.
Corso Buenos Aires is the perfect area to stay in Milan for 1-2 nights .
