My son and I traveled to DC to see a football game. We stayed at Motto due to proximity to museums and stadium. Nice place. Room clean and okay for us. If you travel with more than one person they do not have 2 beds other than bunk beds if your ok with that. Neighborhood is okay its in China town but convenient to Capitals arena as well. restaurant on site was good and breakfast available to go.

Location was great, front desk super friendly, roomy for a moderately cheap D.C. hotel room, was surprised, but I was only there for the night and the thing that counted was the bed. The “superior queen room” felt like a double bed. We decided to bite it for one night, but had a tough time sleeping. I guess not their fault unless it’s actually a double bed, then shame shame. Parking is self service and 36 a night. I found street parking, 12am-7am isn’t enforced. The area isn’t that bad, it’s just D.C….you know.

I was disappointed that there was no water in the room as it is so very hot in Washington x that is a complaint that I think is justified x just some tap water but it is really necessary. They are both fantastic areas of their own. But I would not suggest booking your accommodation there.
Georgetown is a lovely neighborhood, with cobblestone streets, a beautiful architecture all around with the famous University right in the middle of it.
Unfortunately, there is no metro station and you will have fewer transportation options.
I really suggest exploring the area, especially if you have 4 or more days in Washington DC, but staying there may be not that practical.
Unless, of course, you visit a family member at the university and you want to be next door to her or him.
Adams Morgan has a nice and lively night scene. Some great restaurants and bars around.
And this may work great for a visit, especially if you want to mix with a nice young crowd, but there is no Metro station.
Not very practical to use as a base. You would have to walk a lot.
The lack of a Metro station makes both above areas not very practical for visitors of Washington DC.
