Where Is The Best Place To Stay In Positano

Where To Stay In Positano On Honeymoon

Spending the honeymoon in Positano is a dream come true. Even celebrities, of which many Hollywood actors, have decided to spend the most romantic time of their life in Positano

Where to stay in Positano for the honeymoon? I personally suggest staying on the east side of Positano. Its maybe slightly more expensive but the view you get from the rooms and the balconies is to remember for the life.

Here are two alternatives, starting from the luxury option.

  • Villa Boheme Exclusive Luxury Suites: this is a boutique hotel with just 3 suites, all with an amazing view from the windows and from the balcony where they serve breakfast, a real dream comes true. The interior design has been inspired by the Amalfi Coast and the local products. And there is also a swimming pool, which is fantastic on those hot days of summer.

How To Get To Positano

Getting to Positano is not hard when you land at Naples International Airport, the closest airport to the Amalfi Coast.

There are plenty of options to choose from, depending on your budget and preference.

From Naples Airport, there are 61 kilometers by car and a roughly 1-hour drive, depending on traffic.

Starting from the airport, head South, pass through Pompei, Castellmare di Sabbia, Vico Equense, climb the hills and take the winding roads all the way to Positano.

Rent a car by using an aggregator and booking way in advance, you can secure low prices and wont have to worry about timetables and different lines. My go-to car rental company is always Discover Carsthat can help you save up to 70% on your car rental. Just choose an accommodation that offers free parking and you wont have to worry much about paying crazy amounts only to park your car. Get your best offers here!

Depending on where you choose to stay in Positano and what you plan to do, you might not need a car to get around. Thats why I strongly suggest booking a private transfer. Roads on the Amalfi Coast could be challenging even for the most experienced drivers. With an all-inclusive private transfer you will forget all about all worries.

If you travel on a budget, you can also get to Positano .

Bus tickets can be bought from any newspaper stand in the airport or in town. Youll buy the train tickets from the train station.

Best Hotels In Positano For Families

Holidaying in Positano isnt like your typical holiday with all the kids and their grandparents. There are a few things to keep in mind before bringing the whole family.

Positano was built on steep cliffs so there are many steep roads and stairs that are not very stroller-friendly. There are just a couple of main roads for cars and the rest is steep alleyways and a LOT of stairs. Be prepared. It can also get very crowded and hot in the summer, and public transport is unreliable and often overcrowded. Be sure to read our cautionary post on Positano here.

This isnt to say you shouldnt come. There are plenty of activities to keep the whole family happy. From boat rides to beach days and, of course, all the gelato! Weve picked a few places within Positano that are family friendly, but suggest staying in Amalfi and taking day trips over to Positano if you have younger children.

Tips For Staying In Positano

The Amalfi Coast is a luxury destination and youll see accommodation prices reflect that when you begin your search for where to stay in Positano. The price of a mid-range hotel in Positano would easily be in the luxury category in most other cities in Italy. As a general note, hotels will be less expensive as they get further away from the main beach and town center .

Parking is typically not included and usually costs around 20 euro per night at a nearby garage. While there are certainly deals to be found, expect to spend around 200 euros a night in Positano for accommodation with breakfast included.

Very Touristy And Expensive

Very touristy, and expensive . There are a few hidden gems there for sure .This is one of those places that might be better on a postcard. We enjoyed our three days but knowing what I know now we probably would have selected a different destination. We got there by taxi from Naples airport and in case it helps anyone – the guides offering you a ride when you walk out of the airport ended up being much cheaper than a metered taxi – we took a metered taxi by mistake and it was pricey.

What To Pack For Positano

Having the right travel gear is incredibly important for any trip, especially if you are visiting Europe from a different continent. Save yourself time and money by getting all of the necessary items prior to arriving at your destination. Some of the items I consider non-negotiable:

COMFORTABLE SHOES I consider proper walking shoes to be the most important packing item for Europe. The last thing you want is to be mid-trip, with torn up feet, and out of options. Trust me, Ive been there. My shoe recommendation is not the least expensive option on the market, but its definitely the best. You can wear them all day everyday for weeks straight and not once will your feet hurt. They are the only shoes I have ever found that are this way . Just imagine being on your once in a lifetime trip, able to run around from sun up to sun down without a worry. That alone makes them worth every penny! I also love them because of their versatility. You can wear them with anything jeans, leggings, skirts, dresses, anything! If theyre in stock in your size, get them while you still can. .

The Amalfi Coast is home to 13 cities and towns, scattered like jewels along the 55-kilometer, UNESCO-listed coastline that is considered one of the most magnificent in the Mediterranean Sea. Dazzling landscapes and fascinating historic and cultural sights await along the stretch of coast between Positano and Vietri sul Mare, famous for its winding highway skirting dramatic cliffs thick with tiny villages and luxurious villas clinging to the rocky slopes and breathtaking views behind every curve. Panoramic hiking trails take adventurers up into the hills along footpaths once used by shepherds and traveling merchants, including the spectacular Path of the Gods. Flights of steps carved directly out of the cliff face set off down to the water’s edge where crystalline coves and tiny jetties, perfect for setting sail to explore by sea, hide from prying eyes above.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Positano

Le Sirenuse, Positano SA, Italy | One of the most beautiful places in the world to visit

Italy has a Mediterranean climate and is a lovely destination to visit all year round.

Temperatures vary by region, but as a quick example, you can expect lows in Positano of 11°C in January, and highs of 34°C in July.
