Pars Tailors Hostel More Hipster Party
This one is for the one who wants to stay in a cool hostel, meet younger people and go out at night.
Pars Tailors Hostel has a central location, and they do run Pub Crawls.
The people staying here are usually younger from 18 up to 28, roughly.
The design is very hipster-ish, and they even have their own Paella Nights. Some nights of the week the whole hostel also moves to Plaza Espanya for the Magic Fountain Show.
I also love the central location here.
You are staying in the Hipster area of Sant Antoni, with plenty of cool bars, restaurants and cafés. Another advantage? You can take the Airport Shuttle bus from here directly, the bus stop is just 20 meters from here.
Sants Montjuic Best Area For Conferences At La Fira
Attractions: Central: Nightlife: Relax:
Youll find this neighbourhood right outside Barcelonas main train station Sants Estacio.
Pros
This is easily the most accessible area to Barcelona El Prat Airport and another great area for those attending conferences at La Fira or any attraction near Plaça Espanya. This is a very utilitarian, centrally located area with everything you need but nothing too special if you get a good deal pull the trigger.
If youre coming for Barcelona FC matches and want to stay near Camp Nou book here.
Cons
The downsides here are obvious as you wont get much of a go downstairs and wander feel if you love discovering a city on foot then avoid at all costs. If youve got no problem taking transport to the centre then dont be shy.
Petit Palace Boqueria Garden
This is my #1 recommendation due to its quality and location! It is a wonderful Boutique Hotel, recommended as well by LesBoutiqueHotels.com
Petit Palace Boqueria Garden is housed in a historic 19th-century building nestled in the famous La Boqueria Market. This boutique hotel offers relaxing accommodation, a perfect complement to the citys busy streets and overflowing cultural sights.
And even though it is located in the city center, the rooms are soundproof. You will not be able to hear a lot of street noise unless you open the windows.
Have breakfast inside the famous La Boqueria Market and get a coffee at one of the many beautiful coffee shops around the El Gotico.

Barri Gotic Where To Stay In Barcelona For Sightseeing
True to its name, the Gothic Quarter is one of the most atmospheric areas to stay in Barcelona.
With its mysterious winding streets dating back to the Middle Ages and enticing niche of shops and restaurants, the Gothic Quarter is where the intriguing old meets the up-and-coming new.
Some of the most popular attractions are the impressive Gothic Cathedral, charming plazas, such as Plaça Reial, and beautiful landmarks such as the Pont Gòtic on Carrer Bisbe.
Visitors can glimpse the quarters fascinating past at the Museu dHistòria de Barcelona, where artifacts predating the Roman settlement can be viewed on display.
Visitors can additionally browse the shops and stalls of local artisans, as well as sample popular Catalan street food from one of the many vendors along the Avenue La Rambla, Barcelonas most famous boulevard.
There are many hotels, hostels, and privately owned bed & breakfast lodgings to choose from in the Gothic Quarter, ranging from the austere to intimate.

Where To Stay In Barcelona: Getting A Feel For Barcelonas Districts
One of my very favorite things about Barcelona is that each neighborhood has quite a distinct feel to it.
Most of the sights are in the Gothic Quarter , along with its sister neighborhoods the Born and the Raval. This is the oldest part of the city, and it is very charming. Think labyrinthine streets, leafy plazas, and loads of choices to enjoy cocktails or tapas. The Gothic Quarter is in the center of the three neighborhoods, with Born-Ribera lying to its east across Pau Claris street/Via Laietana, and El Raval lying to its west on the other side of Las Ramblas. Together, these three areas comprise medieval Barcelona the most historical and charming part of the city.
The Eixample lies to the northwest of the Gothic Quarter, the Born and the Raval. The Eixample is a long stretch of neatly arranged blocks, an area where youll find lots of modernist works. Because the the Eixample district is so huge, parts of it are calm and residential, whilst others are always buzzing and vibrant.
Finally, there is Barceloneta and the other beachside neighborhoods: Gràcia, a former village that retains the old-school feel, and Poble Sec and the area around Plaça Espanya, which are a bit off the main tourist drags but close enough to everything youd want to see and do.

H10 Marina Barcelona H10 Marina Barcelona is bright and fashionable and features many large, airy spaces around the hotel, all decorated with numerous indoor plants for a cool and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms boast parquet flooring and a cutting-edge monochrome color scheme for decidedly design-led decor. Theres a rooftop pool with great city views, of course, as well as a sauna and an indoor pool, too. Bogatell Beach is just a 10-minute walk from here and features a lot of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Barrio Gotico Where To Stay In Barcelona First Time
This is the top pick for where to stay in Barcelona on your first adventure in the city. In many ways, its the heart and soul of the city, filled with some of its oldest streets and alleyways.
The site of an old Roman village, Barrio Gotico is where youll find a great blend of old-world charm and modern appeal, making it one of the best neighbourhoods to stay in Barcelona for first-time visitors seeking a cultural experience.
In addition to historic sites, this neighbourhood is packed with great restaurants, lively bars, and fantastic shopping. The area ends at the busy plaça de Catalunya and follows La Rambla down to the beach and port area.

Eixample The Most Exlusive Neighborhood
Eixample is a newer neighborhood than, for example, the Gothic Quarter. It was built on a grid system called superblock, its very geometric and some of the best city planners worked on it. I definitely recommend it to travelers that are planning to be based in one of the best areas in Barcelona for an upscale stay!
This is the perfect spot to stay in if you want to be as close as possible to some of Antoni Gaudis masterpieces such as Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo and La Padrera.
Eixample is not as crowded, as it is made of large avenues where you can have a nice walk and discover the city. It is also very close to the city center and if you want to stay in some of the most gorgeous boutique hotels in Barcelona, this is the place to be!
That being said, here are the best hotels I could find in one of the best areas around:

In What Barcelona Area Do I Get The Best Local Vibe
Without a doubt it has to be Gracia. This area which was once a separate village from the city altogether is now one of the last bastions of hope in the local war against globalization.
Gracia is a place with no large chains and is a haven for local business. Youll still hear Catalan in the streets. Its full of picturesque squares where youll see children playing on their lunch breaks.
El Raval Neighbourhood Coolest Area To Stay In Barcelona
If you want to be surrounded by art and culture, El Raval is the neighbourhood for you and one of the best places to stay in Barcelona if youre looking for a hip vibe. It is far and away one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Barcelona, an already notoriously cool city, thanks to its trendy restaurants, bohemian shops, and awesome bar scene.
It is lively and vibrant and just bursting with pop culture. Home to energetic artists, bohemian youth and curious creatives, El Raval is the place to see and be seen.
It should be noted that El Raval was once one of the citys most dangerous districts. Although it has undergone a revamp and resurgence in recent years, pickpocketing is still an issue in packed public spaces, and certain places are best avoided at night alone. Keep your wallets, purses and most valuable items on your person to avoid an unexpected loss or theft. Even if you dont stay here, come take a look around if your Barcelona itinerary allows it.

Gracia Best Area For Local Vibes
Attractions: Central: Nightlife: Relax:
Gracia used to be a separate town from Barcelona and retains some of its independent feel.
Pros
What will strike you about this very safe area is Gracias never-ending supply of beautiful squares and its complete lack of chain restaurants and shops. This may be the only true Catalan neighbourhood left.
Its the best neighbourhood to grab a morning coffee at a good local cafe or unwind with a cold beer or artisan gelato in a square straight out of a postcard. You can also get to Park Guell walking if you dont mind a bit uphill.
Youll get great rest in Gracia since its an area devoid of noisy nightlife not to mention its pedestrian-only. Id recommend this area for young families or couples visiting Barcelona for a low-key weekend.
Its also great being in the city center without feeling like youre in the city center.
Cons
Downsides for those looking where to stay? If youre deep into Gracia its not very accessible except on foot. If youre looking for a party as well this wont be the wisest choice.
Where To Stay In Barcelona: The Gothic Quarter Is The Best Area To Stay For First
Visitors to Barcelona love staying in the Gothic Quarter, and its easy to see why: youre right in the middle of the action, its flanked on each side by a metro line, and its absolutely stunning! The Gothic Quarter is heavily pedestrianized, is full of beautiful plazas, has vibrant nightlife , and a mix of boutique and international shopping .
If you stay in the Gothic Quarter, youll be in the heart of tourist Barcelona this is not a popular area for locals to live because it lacks basics like supermarkets . Still, if youre here for a visit Im guessing supermarkets arent high on your list of must-sees.
I stayed in the Gothic Quarter myself on my very first trip to Barcelona and loved it. If youre in Barcelona for a few days, and your priority is to sightsee and take in the citys highlights, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter.
H10 Raco del Pi A charming 3-star option in a fantastic location only 3 minutes walk from the Cathedral, the historic building dates from the 1800s. Comfortable rooms with wide-plane wooden floors , and a bright, fresh look to them. Great marks for staff, location, and value vs. cost of a room. Solid choice.

Where Is The Best Area To Stay In Barcelona For Families
When visiting Barcelona with kids, I recommend staying in the Gothic Quarter or the Eixample neighbourhoods, in the area nearest to Plaça de Catalunya. By staying in this very central location youll minimize time spent travelling to and from the citys main attractions.
The only exception would be if you are travelling with infants or small children in which case you might prefer to stay in a quieter area such as Gràcia or Poblenou.
Eurostars Grand Marina Gl
If you really just want to stay near the port, then go with Eurostars Grand Marina. You are nearby the port and you can still go for a good restaurant and café nearby.
You can enjoy the swimming pool with stunning sea views. On top of that, they even have rooms with gorgeous views to the city itself and the mountain Montjuic .

What Are The Best Neighborhoods In Barcelona For Nightlife
Its impossible to crown just one Barcelona area as the best for night life, but generally if youre looking for hip bars serving cocktails you should select El Born. The best clubs tend to be in Eixample. The Gothic Quarter is more likely to have unique, quirky bars with live music. If youre looking for cheap dive bars, El Raval is a fine choice for a wander.
