Travel Tip! Depending on the time of year, daylight varies from 5am to 11pm in the summer to 8am to 4.30pm in the winter. Temperatures dont vary greatly, at 4-18C so be sure to bring a water proof jacket, warm sweater and a good pair of boots.

Cliffs of Moher Coastal Hiking Walk

Starting from our door step, allow 2 1/2 hours to walk to the Visitor Centre, 2 hours for the Centre itself and Viewing Point then 2 hours to return on the hike. You can also get a taxi back down or Bus Eireann bus . Catching the evening sunsets up at the Visitor Centre viewing area is a must, especially in Spring and Autumn where you can enjoy stunning red skies, with the sun setting behind the Aran Islands

Myself And My Partner Spent Two Night In Doolin

Myself and my partner spent two night in Doolin. I would love to return as there was loads more Id love to see and I’d like to experience the pubs and the night atmosphere without covid restrictions. We took the ferry to Aran Mor and along the cliffs of Moher which was excellent and would highly recommend. I would have loving more time on the island though its a lot bigger than I had though. We managed to make it too the worm hole on bikes, some very hilly climbs along the way so be in for a slog. Ideally a stay overnight or for a few nights either in one of the hotels or glamping/camping would be a great idea. I really would love to explore this beautiful island abd the other two a lot more. We also took a trip to Alwee caves and the birds of prey center and walked along the top of the cliffs which was beautiful. I will definately be returning and would highly recommend it as a place to visit to family and friends

Chill Out In A Traditional Irish Pub

A dark, cozy pub, a pint of Guinness, a congenial crowd, and plenty of traditional Irish music: you cant leave Doolin without experiencing such an evening at least once!

There are only a few pubs in Doolinreally, its impressive that there is even a selection to choose from in a village so smallbut McDermotts, McGanns, or Gus OConnors would all be happy to have you for an evening.

Personally, we started going to McDermotts by happenstance on our first trip to Doolin, and have just kept returning instead of mixing it upthe food is good and the atmosphere cozy!

Hike To The Cliffs Of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher is arguably one of the top tourist attractions in Doolin, let alone Ireland.

Considered a UNESCO Global Geopark, the Cliffs of Moher are the result of millions of years of heavy rain and compacted sediments that became solid rock.

Today, the cliffs are one of the best thingsto do near Doolin. Theyre 5-mi long cliffs and reach 702ft at theirhighest point at the OBrien Tower, near the visitor center.

Besides having breathtaking landscapes andviews, the cliffs are home to many marine animals as well as birds species,such as the cute puffins.

If youre visiting Doolin Ireland for morethan a day, know that this is an excellent base to go day hikes to the Cliffsof Moher.

Many tourists walk the 5mi trail tothe Visitor Center at the cliffs and take a shuttle back. The Doolin coastalwalk, as the name says, is a coastal trail from Doolin Ireland to Cliffs ofMoher.

Have your camera ready because the viewsare jaw-dropping. But also, dont get too close to the edges to take anyphotos. Its not worth your safety!

How Long Should You Spend In Doolin Ireland

While this is a teeny tiny town in Ireland,there are lots of fun things to do in Doolin that can keep you busy for days.

If youre visiting the town with a grouptour, check the itinerary to know how long they plan to stay in town and whatactivities in Doolin are included in the tour, if any.

But if youre driving there yourself, youcan spend anywhere between a few hours to a few days.

While Ive never stayed in this hotel before, I have been inside I legged it in to use their toilet after a ramble on the beach last winter.

It was fabulous. Big room . Windows that actually open. View of rolling hills, ocean in the distance, horses in the field. Yet walking distance to OConnor pub. 5 minute walk. Great experience at the pub. 4 guys sitting in a booth singing and playing instruments with everyone singing along. Breakfast prepared for you and included. Price was really good

The Doolin Cliff Walk starts at Doolin and ends at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center. This walk offers a spectacular sight of the cliffs along the Atlantic.
