Seasons Inn On Fall River
Just a mile from downtown Estes Park where you’ll find numerous shops and restaurants and 2.5 miles from the Fall River entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, the boutique 4 Seasons Inn on Fall River sits right on the banks of the river.
The charming little property has a mountain rustic vibe, and it does not allow young children to stay, so you won’t be disturbed by screaming children while relaxing at one of the chairs and tables on the grassy lawn by the river or in the large outdoor jetted hot tub.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, with mountain views and lots of wooden accents. All rooms come with mini-ridges, microwaves, and coffee makers. If you are on a romantic getaway and looking for something special, book one of the studio rooms that are self-contained and come with private outdoor hot tubs and picnic tables. These also have small kitchenettes if you want to do your own cooking.
On-site amenities include a sun deck with outdoor furniture, fishing access, a snack bar, and free instant coffee and tea. There is also an outdoor fireplace, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, and 24-hour check in. If you wish to explore on two wheels, bikes can be rented here.

Estes Park is a unique Colorado mountain town in that its history doesnt revolve around the mining industry, as most now-resort towns do. Estes Park was a popular vacation destination in the early 1900s thanks to the incredible mountain views and Rocky Mountain National Park, which was officially established in 1915.
This small museum details the history of Estes Park and the Native Americans who lived here long before the town existed. The museum is located just a few minutes from downtown and is free for visitors. They also offer free walking tours of downtown.
Grand Lake Co Hotels Near Rocky Mountain National Park In The West

Food was great, awesome shopping, River walk beautiful. We spent 3 days in Rocky Mountain national forest. Roosevelt national forest drive toward Loveland beautiful, took peak to peak scenic byway so beautiful. Loved Naderland! Must stop when you can in national forests and hike trails a little to see hidden lakes, streams and falls. Bring layers. Wear comfortable shoes/boots! Enjoy the show!
Visit The Stanley Hotel In Estes Park
The Stanley Hotel is one of Estes Parks most famous attractions. Built in 1909, this 142-room colonial revival hotel was very modern for its time. In fact, in building this hotel, F.O. Stanley provided most of Estes Parks early infrastructure. Most notably the Fall River Hydro-Plant which brought electricity to this remote town for the first time.
This historic and well preserved hotel became famous decades after its opening when it inspired Stephen King to write his best-selling novel, The Shining. Stephen King and his wife spent one night in Room 217 at the end of season and were the only overnight guests in the entire hotel. Its said that the unique and eerie experience left King with the premise of his book mapped out in his head by morning.
You can spend the night here, even in Kings Room 217! Be warned, it books out far in advance, but its undoubtedly one of the coolest things to do in Estes Park.
Guests not staying the night are welcome to stop by for a self guided tour around the property, which offers stunning mountain views in addition to its historic and haunted vibes. Parking is $10 for visitors not spending the night.
Fun Fact: Despite Stephen Kings wishes, The Shining was not filmed at The Stanley Hotel.

Should I Stay In Colorado Springs Estes Park
Both have nature and hiking. Estes Park has great resorts with cabins, cottages, lodges, etc., while Colorado Springs is more of a hotel stay in my opinion. I would say as far as tourist attractions go, Colorado Springs has more but I still liked Estes Park better. Its just so beautiful there and RMNP is stunning.

Rocky Mountain National Park has over 300 miles of trails offering incredible views. Which hikes for you is contingent on your skill level and allowed time. Alberta Falls, Bear Lake, Dream & Emerald Lakes, and Glacier Gorge Trail are popular and relatively easy trails for first time visitors. Advanced hikers check out Chasm Lake, Sky Pond, Bear Lake to Fern Lake Trailhead, or Haiyaha Lake.
No matter if youre doing an easy or difficult hike I recommend beginning your hike early, no later than 8 or 9 am. Popular park trails get very crowded as the day progresses and afternoon storms are common in summer.

The most popular attraction in Estes Park is hands-down the Rocky Mountain National Park . Although it peaks in popularity during the summer, winter still is a rewarding time to visit the park and town. During summer though you can traverse either Trail Ridge or Old Fall River roads west to reach Grand Lake on the opposite side of RMNP. You can do a day loop drive, starting with the one-way west Old Fall River Road, and coming back on Trail Ridge Road.
Or, stay the night in Grand Lake, at one of its charming accommodations. On the Estes Park side, these accommodations in Allenspark are less than thirty minutes from the eastern entrance to RMNP.
In addition to the national park, two national forests are nearby Estes: Arapaho and Roosevelt. Both provide year round recreation. The drive one-way takes about an hour and a half, so its a great route to take to or from the Denver Metro area.
