Wainscott Sagaponack Bridgehampton & Water Mill
The four other most well-known villages in the Easy Hamptons are clustered together between East Hampton and Southampton. Sagaponack is closest to the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Sagg Beach with full amenities plus volleyball nets, fishing, and surfing will keep everyone happy.
Bridgehampton has a small but classy shopping centre with forty or so individual retailers and is located just of the Montauk Highway for easy access. In August the village plays host to the famous Hampton Classic Horse Show, a prestigious show jumping competition and premier destination for horsey people.
Water Mill and Wainscott are more residential areas where elegant and expensive properties can be glimpsed down long sweeping driveways.

Breakfast And Beaches In The Hamptons
The next morning, we were up bright and early for breakfast at John Papas Cafe, tucked off of Main Street in East Hampton. Even on a weekday, the café was crowded with a lively breakfast bunch.
A friendly waitress asked us where we were visiting from while the buzz of conversation between tables of families and friends provided welcome background noise.
Since many stores didnt open until 10 am , we settled for a bit of window shopping before relaxing on the beach.
The public beaches did not charge an admission fee, but most required a parking pass. Some beaches charged a daily rate, while others required a seasonal pass.
We elected to walk to the beach from our Airbnb to avoid the parking fees altogether. Despite being a major tourist destination, we were able to find a quiet corner of the beach away from the other visitors for some much-needed relaxation.

Where To Stay In The Hamptons On A Budget
I set out to plan an activity-filled few days in the Hamptons on a budget. I found three very nice hotels that were all reasonable. The Bayview Resort is around $230 per night. Both are located about a half of a mile from the water, five minutes from downtown Southampton and under 10 miles from Westhampton. Here is TripAdvisors list of ten of the least expensive hotels in the Hamptons.
The East End Budget Host Innis located in Riverhead, NY- only a few miles away from West and Southampton, and its prices are around $110 per night!
It is also minutes from the Tanger outlet mall, and the Splish Splash Water Park, where admission is $46 to $49 per day, depending on age. The trick, however, is to go to the park at 4 p.m. You still have three hours until closing and admission is discounted to $18 to $23 and lines are much shorter for rides and stands.

Swedish hotelier Jenny Baker opened The Maidstone in 2008 and it didnt take long for it to be regarded as one of the best boutique hotels in The Hamptons. The entire inn was fully renovated in May 2017, so expect everything to be new and top-of-the-line.

Hamptons Stores And Boutiques
While the stores and boutiques in the Hamptons may seem a bit pricey, keep an eye out for a great deal or big sale. Max and Ginos, a clothing store in Westhampton, often has a sale rack outside with designer brand clothing for very cheap.
The Shoe-Inn also has some great summer sales. Window shopping is always fun as well.
Shock Ice Cream and Candy
At night, after stopping by the Beach Bakery for a cup of coffee and a quick dance, visit Shock Ice Cream and Candy Storein Westhampton. Its located behind the Shock Baby clothing store and is a must-see when visiting the Hamptons.
Shock has every candy, homemade candied popcorn, and every ice cream flavor imaginable from apple pie to cotton candy to a chocolate-covered banana.
The Hamptons often have inexpensive concerts and shows at the Performing Arts Center, deals on museum tickets, beach parties with under $10 admission fees, and free horse shows at the local stables.

Tips For Visiting The Hamptons On A Budget

Affordable and the Hamptons. The Hamptons and affordable. No matter how I rearranged the words, they didnt seem to go together. Still, back in early spring when both the vaccine rollout and summer travel restrictions were uncertain, visiting the Hamptons held a certain appeal.
It was within driving distance and of course, it had a reputation as a beautiful, relaxing coastal community. Without knowing what the summer would hold, it was important to pick a destination with plenty to see and do outdoors.
Just in case indoor activities were off the table. With this in mind, I began to plan our family vacation like I normally do: travel on a budget.

Where To Eat And Drink
Marilee Foster’s Sagaponack farm provides the produce for the Sagaponack Farm Distillery, a young and hip spot that serves craft spirits made from potatoes, rhubarb, and more. The tasting room, which also serves specialty cocktails and sandwiches, is open daily for patio service and for limited indoor seating.
For cocktails with a view, Springs’ Bostwick’s on the Harbor delivers an unobstructed sunset every evening, along with a comprehensive raw bar. You can find a slightly more lo-fi take on the sundowner at Montauk’s The Montauket. This no-frills bar, which opened in the 1920s, serves cold beers and Painkillers on a cliff atop Fort Pond Bay.
You may already know about the superlative sushi at Sag Harbor’s 27-year-old Sen, but the restaurant also has the Hamptons’ most compelling ramen, a relative secret. The double-pork version, made with a roasted bone broth and served with pickled ginger, bamboo shoots, soft egg, and braised pork belly, has no equal on the East End. A few miles down the road, David Loewenberg’s restaurant, The Bell & Anchor, offers some of the area’s most reliable and affordable cuisine, with three-course prix fixe menus beginning at $34 on weekdays.

Sunset Strolls And Late
On our hosts recommendation, we headed out our first night to Montauk on the easternmost edge of the island. Its location has earned it the unique nickname of the end. Its worth noting that most of the free street parking in Montauk has a two-hour limit.
While this turned out not to be much of a problem for us, as a backup I downloaded the Circuit app. The app acts as a free rideshare service to many top spots when visiting the Hamptons.
As the sun was setting and the sky turned pink and blue, we decided to take a stroll along the beach, where a very sweet woman offered to take a picture of myself and my husband.
This would become a common theme on our short stay, with another person offering to take our picture at an overlook off the highway, defying the stereotype of locals being sick of tourists.
After our walk, we were feeling peckish so we hit up Sundae Donuts. This little shop was easily recognizable from the outside with a brightly colored donut graffiti wall. Inside, the cases were lined with equally fun donut designs.
They served up a strawberry Nutella donut, which had been injected with a syringe of Nutella.
