Meteorológicos lack of major tourism infrastructure also makes it one of the more affordable neighbourhoods on the island. The island is less than 5 miles long and about a third of a mile wide, and has few cars most people rely on golf carts for transportation. The downtown area is just four by six blocks wide, but there are plenty of activities for travelers to enjoy.

Best Bars & Nightlife In Isla Mujeres
Youll be able to find a party in Isla Mujeres. Its no Tulum but theres still fun to be had. You may end up partying with a rag tag crew, drinking on the street, but its a still a good vibe around here. The best area to party is in the centro. The centro is on the north of the island, on the downtown side of the ferry terminal.

Rock Bar, Facebar, Faynes Bar, Aluxes bar or anything near the intersection of Miguel Hidalgo and Matamoros. You can also party at the hostels as well .
Hotel Bel Isla Mujeres

With a fascinating history and culture, Isla Mujeres is one of my favorite locations in Mexico! If youre traveling here for the first time, I highly recommend finding places to stay in Playa Norte , located on the northern tip of the island.
Playa Norte is super popular among tourists as it hosts some of the best restaurants, bars, and hotels in Isla Mujeres. And lets not forget about the white sand beaches with turquoise waters that will make you feel as if youre in paradise!
No wonder Playa Norte was named one of the best beaches in the world by TripAdvisor! Its a pretty magical place, especially when you think about the islands past and history!
Stories say that Isla de la Mujeres dates back over 1500 years when it was part of the Mayan province, Ekab. It served as the sanctuary for the goddess Ixchel, the Maya goddess of the moon, fertility, medicine, and happiness.
The island is not so big, and Playa Norte offers easy access to other parts of Isla Mujeres plus, its located near the ferry terminal, so you can go to Cancun anytime you want, its only 10 miles away!
Indulge in Mexican street food, drink yummy cocktails and relax on the beach all day long! Youll love it here! As I mentioned before, Playa Norte is the tourist hub of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. All the best hotels will sell out super fast, so I recommend booking your accommodation months in advance to secure a good one!

What Area 6 Is Like On Isla Mujeres
This southern tip of Isla Mujeres offers some good views on the west side and toward the southern tip. Some of the nicer homes are in this area. This area can be good if you want to rent a house for more that three days. You will need to work with transportation but you can make it a nice base to explore the island.
Casa Santosha is a villa with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. This is a good example of a luxurious house on the southern end of Isla Mujeres.
Hotel La Joya Isla Mujeres is not a home but it is nice to mention this secret hideaway. This smaller hotel certainly takes advantage of the views.
Final Thoughts On Where To Stay In Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is a laid-back alternative to the bustling streets of Cancún. Despite only being a 25-minute ferry ride away, its a world apart from the big city. The beaches here are calmer, the cultural attractions have a more local vibe, and many of the restaurants and boutiques have maintained their authentic charm. Even if you opt to stay in the city, you should set aside some time for a day trip.
In terms of our favourite neighbourhood, we would have to go with Meteorológico! It isnt as touristy as the north, but still offers many of the same great attractions. The public transport connections are quick and easy, and youll get to enjoy a more local vibe on your Mexican adventure.
That being said, the best place for you really depends on what you want to get out of your trip. Playa Norte is a great first-time option for gathering your bearings, while the calm streets of La Gloria are popular with families and couples alike. The owners of the boutique reside there as well and arehighly hospitable and take pride in their business. Bicycles and adaily breakfast are also offered to the hotel guests.

Affordable Hotel In La Gloria Nomads Hotel & Beachclub
The clientele here does tend to skew younger, but small families can benefit from the affordable private rooms in the hotel section of the resort. They offer organised tours of the area alongside many other exciting activities including kayaking and paddleboarding. For those that do opt to stay in the hostel , the beds have their own privacy curtains and super comfortable mattresses.
Spend One Night On The Island
Spend at least one night in Isla Mujeres and hang out in the small town, which comes to life with music and great food as soon as the sun sets behind the sea. There is quite a good variety of restaurants of all sorts and tastes where you can choose from and a variety of great boutique hotel choices or Airbnb.

Nautibeach Condos North End Playa Norte
This hotel is laid out as a property of condosaccompanied by a beach, a pool, and drinks and dining at their beachclub. Guests can choose accommodations ranging from studioapartments, to one or two bedroom rooms, to full three-bedroompenthouse suites. Each apartment comes with a balcony and kitchen,and some two-bedroom rooms include bunkbeds. This hotel can be foundby Playa Sols lighthouse and downtown beach, southwest of PlayaNorte. Guests can easily walk down to the beach bars and HidalgoStreet.

Have Lunch On The Beach
Riding towards the southern points you will find on your right a few restaurants on the beach where you can chill and have your lunch there. But the best beaches are on the north side, in particular Playa Norte and Playa del Sol.
If you stay in one of the fancy beach clubs in Isla Mujeres you can all the comfort they offer, including laying on a lounge chair instead of the beach.
A great option is Zama Beach club. I havent been but it has outstanding reviews and many people are raving about it. So I thought I would share it.

Hotel Secreto North End Playa Norte
This classy and modern boutique hotel can be found on a small beach in the north side of downtown, near Hidalgo Street and Playa Norte. This hotels facilities include a relaxing spa and infinity pool. Every room in this hotel is a suite, which offers a broad balcony with an ocean view that you can view from a queen-sized bed. They are also all stylishly decorated.
Couples might want to avail of their junior suites, which feature showers with peekaboo windows. Their room rate is inclusive of a continental breakfast which is delivered to every room daily. This hotel is open to children, but is not as family-friendly in its ambience.
