Lido Palace The Leading Hotels Of The World
Another highlight of the best hotels Lake Garda is hosting is Lido Palace The Leading Hotels of the World. When youre looking at the best places in Lake Garda to stay, as I have mentioned earlier, you must consider first what type of vacation youll be on. Lido Palace is located on the north shore of the lake, in Riva del Garda. As I have mentioned this area is great both for those who are looking for outdoor activities, and those who want peace and quiet.
Lido Palace is 6 minutes away from the beach, and it offers a large wellness and spa center, with indoor and outdoor pools, and its located right off the lake. One of the most beautiful details of this accommodation is, that its set in a Belle Epoque building from the early 1900s. Inside the black and grey decor dominates. Elegant, and perfect for those who seek a nice getaway in the mountains. Also, theres a fitness center, and a restaurant on-site which offers Mediterranean cuisine and fish specialties.

Overview Of Where To Stay In Lake Garda
Lake Garda is found at the foot of the Italian Alps and as I mentioned previously, it covers three different provinces. These provinces are Lombardia, Trentino, and Veneto.
Located halfway between Milan and Venice, Lake Garda is easily accessible. Many people choose to stay in these cities and take a day trip out to the lake instead, but I highly recommend that you stay here.
Theres so much to do in the area like exploring historic castles, cycling around the lakefront, and tasting delicious wine so its best to spend at least 2-3 days at Lake Garda.
Some of the most popular attractions in the area include Scaligero Castle, Gardaland Resort, and Parco Natura Viva.
With a length of nearly 52 km , its no surprise that youll find plenty of charming lakeside towns to stay in. Many of these towns are found along the Gardenesa which is the coastal road that runs alongside Lake Garda.
Each one has something special to offer and is easily accessible as public buses run all around the lake. Youll also find plenty of ferries and catamarans so getting around isnt an issue.
However, its even easier if youre planning to hire a car and Lake Garda also fits nicely in a wider Northern Italy road trip itinerary.
The main thing youll want to consider when choosing where to stay in Lake Garda is the attractions you want to be close to and your budget.

Hi JurgaThank you for your blog. We are traveling to Milan Italy this November to pick up our son who has been serving a proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are excited to see some of the places he has been living for the past 15 months. We will be traveling from Milan to Venice and then to Rome and a stop at Lake Garda looks worthwhile. Are any of the ferry boats operating in November or should we plan on seeing everything from the shore and the road.

Most Beautiful Places Of Lake Garda
If you have a couple of days in Lake Garda Italy, dont miss the chance to drive around the whole lake and visit some of the charming old towns along the way. This can be done as a round trip or you can choose to stay at one central location and discover the lake from there.
The round trip around Lake Garda is about 150km and in principle, you can do it in one day. However, the roads are narrow and the traffic is very busy, so you wont have much time left to discover the villages along the way.
That being said, driving around the lake is still worth doing, as long as you dont expect to see the very best of Lake Garda in one day.
I advise that you choose one or two places to visit along Lake Garda each day. You can drive, take a ferry boat, or, as we did, combine the two. Its simply not possible to see and do everything in Lake Garda in a day or two, so dont even try. Its better to explore fewer places than rush by and only see the lake through the window of your car.
