Where To Stay In Las Vegas For Cheap

Rio Las Vegas Cheap Rate Information

5 Sketchiest Places to Stay on Las Vegas Strip

The Rio offers excellent amenities and proximity to Las Vegas Boulevard for affordable rates to attract larger crowds.

The Rio is an excellent option for those looking for a more affordable stay near the Las Vegas Strip. While it is not located on Las Vegas Boulevard, it is very close. Head east on Flamingo Road for two blocks, just past the I-15, and youll run into the Strip and the intersection with the Flamingo Las Vegas, Caesars Palace, and the Paris Las Vegas with Ballys right next to it.

Their rooms are much larger than standard rooms at most other resorts and include a sitting area, making them mini-suites. Even their suites are larger than comparable options with spa tubs, a long list of in-room amenities, and great views. You could expect to pay more at other resorts, especially those closer to or on the Strip.

On-site, you still have many things close by that continue to make Rio a great value. Guests have access to a fitness center and the pool, a salon, and a business center. There is an expansive casino, several bars, a few restaurants, a pool bar, and several popular shows.

However, the Rio is an older hotel, so the rooms may be dated or feel aged. While still comfortable, most rooms havent been renovated. Also, because there are well over 2,500 rooms at the Rio, you may see longer lines at check-in and restaurants while guests get settled or during rush mealtimes.

How To Get Around Las Vegas On A Budget

Why You Should NOT Stay at The Best Las Vegas Hotels (Unless Comped)

Not only are there endless cheap things to do in Las Vegas, but the majority of Vegas best activities and. sights are also so close together! The Las Vegas Strip , is only 2 miles in length. The hotels are practically on top of each other, making it extremely easy to see multiple things in a day.

Depending on what type of vacation you plan on doing, you wont even need a rental car. And honestly, I would not recommend renting a car in Las Vegas unless you plan to do a lot of day trips or hiking excursions. Parking can be very expensive at the hotels and driving along the Las Vegas strip should be avoided at all costs!!

The easiest way to get around Las Vegas is by Uber/Lyft, but these can be expensive during high times.

Luckily, there are surprisingly a lot of free ways to get around Las Vegas, let me break them down by area:

Las Vegas Strip

Walking: Excluding summer, walking is always an option because all of the hotels on the Las Vegas strip are extremely close together. Dont plan to do a lot of walking in the summertime because it is insanely warm. Its not a joke people, Vegas is HOT.

Trams: Many of the hotels are owned by the same company and will have a FREE tram service that will take you to and from their sister hotels. While these trams may not take you exactly where you would like to go, they may take you fairly close and you will need to walk the remainder of the way. The three trams are:

  • Park MGM Aria Bellagio
  • Mandalay Bay Luxor Excalibur
  • Downtown

Best Time To Visit Las Vegas

With year-round entertainment and activities, any time is a good time to visit Las Vegas. Spring from March May and fall from September November are cooler seasons to visit. Day temperatures range around 75 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Night temperatures are cooler, and you may need a light jacket as you walk up and down The Strip to explore its dazzling nightlife, entertainment, and several events and festivals that take place during these months. Between June August, the desert temperatures can reach 100 104 degrees Fahrenheit. However, summer continues to be a popular time for families visiting Vegas. In winter, the cooler weather and abundance of holiday parties attracts a lot of nightlife revelers. If you visit in winter, remember to carry a warm jacket since temperatures can sometimes dip as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Harrah’s Las Vegas Cheap Rate Information

At Harrahs, rooms are very affordable to book.

Finding a cost-effective hotel in Las Vegas can seem like a daunting task. However, many resorts in this gambling center of the world offer competitive rates. Harrahs is a good option to stay within the budget of your trip, offering rooms at low double-digit prices regardless of the season.

Youll love the quaint convenience of a 280 square-foot Mountain Deluxe room or a 340 square-foot Valley King room, all sitting at low prices for budget travelers of all types. Tip : Use Casino Loyalty Programs

Many Las Vegas casinos offer great loyalty programs to their patrons in the form of a Players Card, so this is another option if you dont want to sign up for a hotel loyalty program. However, you will often need to be in Vegas before you can start racking up points, which could make it harder to reliably get a free hotel room. Maybe for your next trip.

If you want to try this, there are plenty of options that will let you earn points and sometimes other rewards like free hotel rooms if youre lucky.

Look into the MGM Rewards program , and Caesar Rewards Gold, which regularly offers free or discounted stays at any Caesars owned hotel. Other tiers may also offer free or discounted rooms.

Ideally, youll want to sign up for a Players Card before you start gambling. This will track your spending throughout your stay, earning you points that may be used on a hotel room .

To get a Las Vegas casino players card, you can either:

  • Sign up on the casinos website
  • Or, you can sign up for the card at the players desk in the casino
  • The disadvantage of using a players card to get your free room is that it may prompt you to gamble more and more throughout your stay because youll feel like your money is at least going toward a future hotel room or reward.
