Think About Your Location
There are over 30 hotels located on the Las Vegas Strip, but not all Strip locations are created equal. The Strip is four miles long, with hotels spread along its length, so if youre staying right down one end then youll have a long trek to reach the centre or the other end.
Frequent Deuce buses run along the Strip 24 hours a day which cost $8 for 24 hours. But traffic can make it slow going. So if youre limited on time and want to visit a lot of places then you might be better paying a bit extra to get a more convenient location.

Frequently Asked Questions About Staying In Las Vegas

What is the best location to stay in Las Vegas?
Because of its trademark attractions and one-of-a-kind nightlife, The Strip is the must-visit location to indulge yourself in Las Vegas best offerings.
Which areas should you avoid in Las Vegas?
Whitney is an area in East Las Vegas with a crime rate 191% higher than the national average. With those numbers, its safe to assume you shouldnt wander off around that area. Stick to areas populated with tourists like The Strip and Downtown.
Is it better to stay on the Strip or Downtown Las Vegas?
Due to the much larger variety of choices in The Strip, I highly recommend it for the best stay you can possibly have. Downtown is a great area because of its budget-friendly attractions and activities while possessing the same vibe as The Strip.
What is the bad side of Las Vegas?
Las Vegass charm can also be its downside. Its plethora of casinos and invitation to gamble can be bad for those who are easily pulled to such activities. Its also not friendly for budget-oriented travelers who seek cheap deals as Las Vegas can get really expensive.
For a bit of a recap, the list of hotels in Las Vegas is fairly abundant given the demand. The best hotels from experience are:
- The Palazzo At The Venetian for its size, lavish aesthetic, and spacious rooms.
- Circa Resort & Casino for its hotel and casino combination, location, and luxury vibe.

$$+ | 3 Star | New Resort| Seven-Pool Complex | Digital Concierge
Swanky, luxurious, and high-tech, this new resort has a digital concierge, immersive LED technology, and a swoon-worthy pool. Three hotel brands share this property which means you have more options to choose from, including seven stunning pools to relax in.

$$ | 4 Star | Affordable Luxury | Rooftop Pool
The original 1952 Sahara hotel was torn down and this extravagantly modern hotel was rebuilt in 2014 in honor of its namesake. You can stay in a room with one of three motifs: glamorous, trendy, and modern. Take in the Vegas night life at the adults only rooftop pool or stay on the ground at the all ages pool.
West Of The Strip Good For Families
Moving a few blocks west of the Strip is an as disorienting experience as moving a few blocks east.
The bright lights and neon dont go away completely as you venture into the western neighborhoods. After all, both the Palms and the Rio are there.
But even the themed hotels have a hipper and ritzier reputation than many of the lodgings here. More modestly priced hotels are available in abundance, but youll find plenty of higher class places to stay as well.
Regardless of where you stay, you can expect to get plenty more for your dollar than you would on the Strip without having to sacrifice much in the way of accessibility.
The western half of town may not have a university, but its a stretch of land with a higher density of quiet and residential neighborhoods. That environment makes it one of the top neighborhoods in town if youve got kids in tow, but adults will find plenty to love as well.
The aforementioned Rio and Palms are home to the trendy VooDoo Lounge and ghostbar, and most hotels that have a casino on-site will offer places to drink and catch a show as well.
The east may take the crown in terms of museum density, but you should take the time to visit the Nevada State Museum regardless of where you decide to stay in Las Vegas.
Whether youre looking to pick up a souvenir, pick up a shaving kit, or get dressed up for a night out on the town, youll find what you need at the Masquerade Village shopping mall.

Got $140/105 Try Paris Las Vegas
Up the budget a bit more and you can stay right in the heart of the Strip at Paris Las Vegas*. Its in a great location an easy walk to the main sights. The hotel has gone all out with the Parisian theme, with their own versions of the Arc de Triomphe and Louvre. And of course theres the Eiffel Tower with a big octagonal swimming pool beneath one of its legs.
I stayed in a huge corner room, done up in Versailles-era French style, with antique-look dark wood furniture, gold and blue decor and a pink marble bathroom. Although the rooms arent the most modern, they come with coffee maker and fridge, and mine had armchairs next to the window to make the most of the view of the Bellagio fountains opposite.
Paris Eiffel Tower is home to the Château nightclub on the lower deck and a restaurant and observation deck at the top. The resort has 15 restaurants in total, including a Gordon Ramsey steakhouse, East Coast Italian, rooftop bar and grill, Parisian crèperie, and the Mon Ami Gabi bistro which overlooks the Strip. The resort fee is $37 per night.
Other mid-range options on the Strip include Caesars Palace, Vdara and Mirage.
The Signature At Mgm Grand

Best for: Business travelers, couples
On-site amenities: Pool, spa, fitness center, lounge, cafe
Pros: All rooms are suites with balconies, which is a real rarity in Las Vegas. It’s also slightly removed from the Strip while offering easy access to it.
Cons: There are very limited on-site food and drink options unless you walk to the adjacent MGM Grand.
If you want to be near the Strip without being directly on the Strip, the Signature at MGM Grand is one of the best options you’ll find. This non-gaming property, which is less than a mile from the Strip, is connected to the massive playground that is the MGM Grand but still feels completely separate.
The lobby is tranquil and elegant, and rooms come with kitchenettes, separate living room areas, and in some cases, balconies. Upgrade to a Deluxe Balcony Suite to secure one. They also have spacious spa bathrooms with a rainfall shower, a deep soaking tub, and a TV.
While sunning on your balcony, don’t be surprised if the view is of a rowdy pool party at the nearby Wet Republic Ultra Pool.
COVID-19 procedures are available here.

Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa
$$ | 4 Star | Water Slide | Water Sport Rentals | Lake Views
If youd rather stay near a lake than in a city setting, this hotel is a great pick for you! Located right on Lake Las Vegas, this property is actually in Henderson, not Vegas. Its around a 30-minute drive to the Strip, but it has several attractions you wont find on the Strip: A water slide, an inflatable water park, and paddleboard rentals! Whats more, the rooms have views of beautiful Lake Las Vegas.
If you plan to hit up the Strip at least once or twice, youll want to have a car. But if you simply want to get away and hang out by a lake in a resort for a couple of days, this is an ideal location for a family vacation or a weekend couples getaway.

What Is There To Do Off
There’s a whole world outside of the Las Vegas Strip . You can browse the shops at the Downtown Container Park, catch an intimate live concert at an East Fremont Street bar, or check out First Friday in the Arts District.
Dine at a neighborhood restaurant that rivals the ones on the Strip and hit the trails at Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston, Lake Mead, or Valley of Fire. From art galleries, museums, boutiques and craft cocktail bars to hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking, there’s much to explore in Southern Nevada.
