Family Hotels In Bloomsbury

This area is a great compromise between price and location with lots of 3 and 4 star hotels and is perfect for families to stay. Bloomsbury is a quieter area popular with families, with green spaces like Bloomsbury Square Garden and small streets like Sicilian Avenue. The neighbourhood attracts artists, writers, and painters, with the British Museum located in Bloomsbury, and its only a 20-minute walk to Covent Garden and Oxford Street.

Bottom line: A good location and affordable prices, with excellent transportation links and close proximity to the shops of Oxford Street. Possibly the best location to stay in London for families

  • Transport: The main stations are Russel Square and Holborn. Its close to Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross stations. This area is especially convenient if you are traveling on the Eurostar trains or to Luton airport.
  • Local Sightseeing: The British Museum and its a very pretty area.
  • Nightlife & shops: The best restaurants are located down Torrington Place but there isnt much in the way of shops or nightlife in the area. Youll find mainly convenience stores.
  • Cost: Budget to mid-price

The Georgian House Hotel Pimlico 4*

At first glance, this may seem like your average four-star London hotel but a magical secret is concealed within. You can stay in the Wizard or Enchanted Chambers when booking into the Georgian House Hotel. The latter sleeps two guests, while the former is available as family rooms for four, five or six guests.

These rooms have been carefully designed to resemble the atmospheric sort of quarters you might find inside the Hogwarts castle or at one of the wizarding families homes, complete with four-poster beds dressed with velvet curtains, tapestries, cauldrons, trunks, stained glass windows and wood-burning stoves.

Each room is unique and modern luxuries like White Company toiletries, Nespresso coffee machines, flatscreen TVs and fast WiFi are supplied. Pimlico and Sloane Square are the closest tube stations, and key London landmarks like Buckingham Palace and Westminster are under a mile away.

Soho comes a live at night with the festive cheer. It has come great pubs and restaurants. Make sure to check out a show at the West End theatre. Soho is also known for its risqué vibe, here you will find many of Londons sex shops, burlesque shows and gay and lesbian bars. .

This is the best place to stay in London for food and entertainment. Below is a list of the best hotels in central London:

Quick Facts on Soho

  • Soho has had a reputation for being a rather saucy area from its inception. The Hellfire Club was set up in 1719 by Philip, Duke of Wharton. It was rumoured to be the place where notable people could enjoy immoral acts
  • The Philip Morris cigarette factory used to be on Great Marlborough Street. This is where Marlboro cigarettes come from.
  • Look out for the noses on Soho walls. This was an artist bemoaning Londons CCTV turning us into a Big Brother state. The noses were originally put up where there were gaps in the TV coverage.
