Airboat Swamp Tour in the Afternoon

Once the hangover subsides, youll be ready for the next adventure of your bachelorette party – airboat swamp tour. Airboat tours are incredibly exhilarating as you whip around the swamps and bayous at top speeds. Imagine Tokyo Drift, but while searching for alligators…yeah, its that cool. And if you didn’t grow up near a swamp-like habitat, you might find it fascinating to know that there is no shortage of alligators! You can pretty much guarantee spotting a few of these prehistoric beasts between the months of March through October. But…they do the alligator equivalent to hibernation during the cold months and remain underwater for most of the time. However, if your bachelorette party does happen to be between November-February, riding an airboat, exploring swamp/bayou/marsh terrains, and observing the other wildlife species in the area is still an awesome experience.

Brunch at BearCat Unfortunately, after eating beignets, poboys, multiple brunches, and more you will need to pack your bags and head on back home but not before you have one more brunch! At BearCat, no one needs to be shamed if they want to be a good cat by eating the vegan ranchero or a bad cat by scarfing down the BearCat breakfast complete with bacon. I would hold out for the Trumpet scallops on the good cat lunch menu.Say goodbye and head on to the airport If for any reason anyone in your Krewe cannot squeeze in one last meal before catching a flight back home no worries -the New Orleans airport has plenty of choices to eat. If you are suffering from a hangover, I thoroughly recommend the Nachos from The Much Factory.

When To Visit Nola

While you can visit New Orleans any time of the year, Spring is considered to be the best time to visit.

The weather is mild and the Mardi Gras season runs from January to March and attracts visitors from all over the world. However, be aware that it can get crowded and very expensive during Mardi Gras season and youll need to book a hotel well in advance.

Visiting New Orleans in the fall can be tempting because of the nice weather and fewer crowds, but we recommend avoiding August and September, which are the height of the hurricane season. When I went, it was late October and the weather was perfect!

Where To Stay For Your New Orleans Bachelorette

First things first: You need the perfect place to stay in New Orleans thats befitting of the queens that you are. On my last two visits, including my New Orleans bachelorette, I booked chain hotels, of which there are many in the Big Easy. This time around, though, we opted for a boutique hotel instead, which is always my preference if given the choice.

One of the citys most charming boutique hotels, the Selina Catahoula Hotel with its 35 rooms and suite of services, like a full bar and Peruvian restaurant is the perfect base in the Central Business District from which to explore. As its name might suggestthe Selina Catahoula is the state dog of Louisianaits pet-friendly, too, so you can bring your pup along with you .

Each of our individual rooms was dramatically different, which makes sense given that the hotel was adapted to fit an 1840s townhouse. But given the cozy nature of most city hotels, I was shocked with how open and airy my room was, thanks in part to the soaring ceilings. I know each of the Selina Catahoula accommodations are different, but the second I stepped into my quarter for the week, I was immediately impressed with how they laid out each room to maximize space.

I also loved the common areas, particularly the courtyardwhich boasts one of the most Instagrammed pieces of art, a mural of a burlesque dancer, in townand the inside Piscobar.

Have A Hurricane While Walking Down Bourbon Street

A hurricane drink is a traditional cocktail found on the streets of New Orleans. The cocktail consists of rum, orange juice, passionfruit juice and grenadine. The cocktail was made created by Pat OBriens during World War II. This is a must-try while visiting Nola. Another must-try cocktail is the Hand Grenade.
