For Luxury Lovers Upper East Side
The Upper East Side is the right area to stay for you if you like things a little quieter, you want to go for a run in Central Park in the morning, and you plan to explore the museums of New York.
Although the Upper East Side has changed a bit over the years, people still think of it as the neighborhood of the rich and beautiful, with expensive clothes and tiny dogs in handbags.
Of course thats a bit of a stereotype, but theres more than a kernel of truth to it. In spite of that, or perhaps because of it, its worth staying in the Upper East Side.
Its full of beautiful buildings and luxury boutiques, with Central Park as a scenic backdrop. 5th Avenue, which runs east of Central Park, is home to the citys most famous museums.
This part of 5th Avenue is also known as Museum Mile. There youll find the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Jewish Museum, the Goethe Institute, and the Neue Galerie.
Pros of staying in the Upper East Side:
- Within walking distance of many of the citys major museums
- Central Park is right next door
- Quieter than the other districts
Cons of staying in the Upper East Side:
- Hotels are a bit more expensive than in the other districts

Where To Stay In Nice France
I will be visiting Nice in August 2015 and would like to get some suggestions on hotels that have a good location and at least a 3 star hotel.
Many travelers think a good location in Nice is one where you can see the beach from the balcony of your room. These hotels will usually be “beach front”, I put it in quotes because the first row of buildings from the water is separated from the beach by a broad avenue. When you locate a possible hotel, look at it on Google Earth or Viamichelin websites and try to confirm it’s on the first row of buildings from the the beach. Then your next step is to try to confirm that your room has a “beach view”, which will of course cost more but, as they say, if you want to play you have to pay. Some of the others may have specific recommendations. We stayed in a room like I’ve described above, but I don’t remember the name of the hotel.
My wife an I stayed about 10 minutes away from nice in port st laurent ,about 5 minutes from the airport ,it was a holiday inn , beautiful spot ,right on the beach ,balcony facing the water ,restaurants along the boardwalk ,walking distance to the train station ,5 minute train ride to nice and 25 minute train ride to Monaco .
We stayed in Hotel le Royal and it was as Kent described, we had a great view of the water and beach from our room.

La Villa Nice Victor Hugo Le Carr Dor
Located on the tree-lined Boulevard Victor Hugo, this three-star stay belongs to a family of boutique hotels along the French Riviera . The building is a classic of the belle époque, when visitors came to Nice for winter not summer sun. Interiors are contemporary but echo some of the late 19th-century exterior in their ornament, with curvy armchairs in hot pink and smoky Perspex. The hotels namesake author gets a tribute too, with quotations from his celebrated poems, novels and plays etched on to the walls.
