We Had The Opportunity To Visit Friends That We Haven’t
We had the opportunity to visit friends that we haven’t seen in two years. It was wonderful! We had dinner at Chica Boom Boom and it was so much fun. It’s Cuban food but not to spicy. They have a singer that is wonderful and dancing. Make a reservation and she starts to sing around 5:30. It was dreadfully HOT but we endured like everyone else does.On Sunday, we attended Center for Spiritual Living – a non denominational center – and it was INCREDIBLE. There are so many fantastic places we did not have time to visit BUT we plan on returning soon…. very soon.

Where To Stay In Palm Springs: Mid
Palm Springs has a large inventory of newly-built, mid-range chain hotels, driven by the strong development of the surrounding areas. Also, many of the city’s hip, retro boutique hotels fall in the mid-range category, as their roots as 1950s and 1960s motels limit their luxury possibilities.
The Colony Palms Hotel is a wonderfully renovated, historic property that delivers a more luxurious experience than its price might suggest. Classic details and touches in the rooms and common areas have been retained, giving the hotel a glorious old Hollywood vibe.
The location is perfect, a few short blocks from the downtown area, and the hotel’s restaurant, the Purple Palm, is considered one of the best in town. Try to get a casita room as they have their own private patios.

Why Stay In Palm Desert Vs Palm Springs
With chic Country Clubs, big box stores, cinema complexes, golf courses at every turn and mainstream shopping malls, Palm Desert is a place to relax and stay awhile. It has more of a suburban feel to it, with condos and large hotel chains like the Marriott and Hyatt. However, there are still plenty of cool restaurants and things to do in Palm Desert, making it the best of both worlds.
Transportation
- You will need a car in Palm Desert, as everything is very far apart. The blocks seem to sprawl forever, and the suburb is 70 square kilometers. Lots of ground to cover!
- One thing I love about Palm Desert and Palm Springs is the number of Ubers available. You wont have a problem hailing one after a few too many margaritas at The Fresh Agave
Accommodation
- Palm Desert is great for families as there are more affordable house rentals, many in Country Clubs that have pools on every corner.
- Hotel giants like JW Marriott and Hyatt have restaurants, bars, golf, and pools on site. AKA you never have to leave.
- Palm Desert is ideal for longer rentals or snowbirds as you can create more of a routine and home life. Easy access to grocery stores, yoga and fitness studios, hiking, restaurants and a few bars.
Things to Do
Golfing
Shopping
Unique Selling Points
- The College of the Desert in Palm Desert has a street fair every Saturday and Sunday in peak season. The fair is worth checking out for a frozen lemonade and some bargain hunting. Great for golf gear, jewelry, socks, and home decor.

Where To Stay In Palm Springs And The Coachella Valley
Palm Springs is a desert resort city located in Southern California. This place, situated 100 miles east of Los Angeles, in the Sonoran Desert, is one of the most important tourist destinations in the state. Palm Springs is mostly famous for its glamorous estates and mid-century architecture, as well as for its upscale shopping and dining and its lavish hotels and spas. This post will explore the best areas to stay in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs.
The history of Palm Springs is tightly linked to the growth of the film industry in nearby Hollywood. By the beginning of the twentieth century, Palm Springs was little more than a small inland settlement. Its warm climate, proximity to Los Angeles, and its natural hot springs helped popularize the village among the show business elites. By the 1930s, Palm Springs was already one of the fastest-growing cities in California.
The city expanded rapidly and art dèco and mid-century modern buildings, hotels, homes, spas, shopping strips, and golf courses began sprouting everywhere. Anyone who was anyone in Hollywood started acquiring property in town to spend their winters and in-between-movies periods and so Palm Springs became The Playground of the Stars. Today, the name Palm Springs is synonymous with classic Americana, Old Hollywood glamour, and a laidback atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of LA. Book accommodation in Palm Springs.

its actually very nice since its just for your villas. We had just a handful of people. Nice condos and great place to stay for coachella. Book it. Great location too.
I drive by them all the time and they look very nice and seem to be well maintained. Easter isn’t until April 17 so if that is when you are coming the majority of winter/ spring visitors are gone-replaced with festival goers. It’s still going to be busy but the majority of the visitors will be at the polo grounds for music.
