AP CM YS Jagan To Visit Paris | CM YS Jagan Paris Tour | Sakshi TV

If your dream visit to Paris involves lots of shopping and plenty of buying, stay in the lively Opéra / Grands Magasins neighborhood where every designer and every brand will conveniently be right at your fingertips. And so will your hotel, when you need to stash your overflowing shopping bags in your room before rushing out to shop some more.

Galeries Lafayette and Au Printemps, two legendary and enormous Belle Epoch Paris grands magasins , dominate this part of the 9th. Under their roofs, you’ll find dedicated boutiques for virtually every famous luxury designer you can imagine – Gucci, Maje, Sandro, Armani, Hermès, Valentino, Tiffany, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, to name a few – plus a huge array of more affordable brands. This makes 1-stop-shopping incredibly convenient, but here’s an even bigger plus if you live outside the EU: you can combine your purchases of most brands to meet the 175 minimum to claim your VAT tax rebate on the spot.

If that’s not enough, you can shop to your heart’s content along the grand Boulevard Haussmann, Boulevard des Capucines, and smaller rues at international emporiums such as Zara, Uniqlo, and H& M, affordable French labels like Comptoir des Cotonniers, Camaïeu, and Carroll, and luxury luggage and leather shops. Gaze at dazzling jewels and watches along Boulevard des Capucines and Rue de la Paix. Load up on fancy teas and chocolates as you stroll down Avenue de l’Opéra.

Is Opra One Of The Best Hotel Locations In Paris

Definitely. Opéra is one of those places in Paris, that really looks like Paris. It is not the Paris of Amélie but the Paris of the Grand Boulevards, the imposing Haussmann buildings with their stunning facades, fancy department stores, museums, and lots of shopping opportunities.

Best Neighborhood For Getting Off The Beaten Track

Paris’ 13e doesn’t typically feature on visitors’ radars but it is fascinating to explore. The village-like Butte aux Cailles, with its quaint car-free streets, has a sting of local bars and restaurants, along with an artesian spring, the Puits Artésien de la Butte aux Cailles , and art-deco swimming complex, Piscine de la Butte aux Cailles, featuring a Nordic pool. Southeast is Paris’ largest Chinatown, where high-rise buildings are splashed with street art, while close to the Seine, redeveloped industrial areas include start-up hub Station F. Great accommodation finds here include stylish Hôtel Henriette, furnished with vintage decor, and, floating on the river, Hotel OFF Paris Seine.

The best alternative: In the city’s northeast, the hilly, gentrifying 20e is also well off the beaten track for most travelers, save for those visiting the famous graves at Cimetière du Père Lachaise. Precipitous Parc de Belleville has spectacular views over the city its 4.5 hectares shelter an urban vineyard. The arrondissement also has its own small, bustling Chinatown. Accommodation options in the 20e include small-scale hostels and family-run hotels.

Areas To Avoid In Paris

This kind of section is always a bit scary, so I prefer to lay the basics:

Paris is a very safe city, whether for tourists or its inhabitants. Millions of tourists visit the capital every year without any problems.

But here it is, trouble can happen! As for all your travels and also in everyday life, but there are some simple tips to follow:

  • The main risk for tourists is pick-pocketing. Always keep an eye on your belongings, close your bags and pockets, avoid crowded places and always be alert.
  • The second risk is the scam, refuse to sign any petitions, refuse any gifts and never accept anything from a stranger. You wouldnt do it at home then dont do it in Paris! If someone offers to help you, politely refuse. A golden rule when you need help is to trust the people you have approached, not the people who approached you.

If you have to walk at night, especially late at night usually after midnight- some places are to be avoided. Of course, youre not going to get mugged for sure if you walk there at night, but two precautions are better than one:

  • The Halles district in the 1st arrondissement .
  • The Boulogne Woods, very pleasant during the day but at night you may meet strange and weird people .
  • Generally, less touristy areas such as the surroundings of the Gare de lEst and Gare du Nord or the boulevard de Clichy are also to avoid.

Rive Droite Or Rive Gauche

Paris is located on the Seine River, which splits the city into two parts Rive Droite and Rive Gauche. Rive Droite refers to the area north of the river. This is where youll find the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, Montmartre, just to name a few. Rive Gauche is located south of the Seine. Its home to the Eiffel Tower, Musee dOrsay, the Rodin Museum and many more.

In addition to this, Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements. The arrondissement is the French equivalent to the district. The arrondissements are numbered from 1 to 20 in a clockwise spiral, starting from the Louvre on the right bank.

As a rule, its recommended for first-time visitors to stay in the single digits arrondissements. These neighbourhoods are most central, easy to get around, well-connected and generally safe.

You can easily find out in which arrondissement is your hotel by looking at its address. For example in 218 rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, the last two digits from the postal code 75001 refer to the number of the arrondissement. The smaller the digit, the more central is the neighbourhood.

My best tip is regardless of which arrondissement you choose, stay within a short walk of a metro station. It will save you a lot of time walking. Plus, Paris has an excellent metro system. This is great because even if you stay right next to the Louvre, youll still have to use the metro to get to some of the attractions.

Th Arrondissement : A Quiet Area To Stay In Paris

The 19th arrondissement is an off-the-beaten-path district in northeastern Paris.

Pariss 19th arrondissement is a symbol of urban regeneration.

This area, located in northeastern Paris has some great parks such as Parc des Buttes-Chaumont and Parc de la Villette, the latter home to the Cité des Sciences et de lIndustrie and concert venues.

While it is not the most central district in Paris, the area has good connections to the city centre thanks to the citys metro system.

Where To Stay In Paris First Time: Best Areas And Neighborhoods

The best areas to stay in Paris for both first time and returning tourists are the central arrondissements and the neighborhoods around Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Le Marais, Le Quartier Latin, Saint-Germain-des-Près, Champs-Elysées, Canal St. Martin, Bastille, Montparnasse, Montmartre, and Belleville. These are also the safest districts to stay in Paris, based in the most convenient locations and close to the main tourists attractions.

In this blog, I will help you to decide where to stay in Paris for first timers, for sightseeing, nightlife, shopping, three nights, Summer Olympics 2024, and the best hotels with Eiffel Tower views.

Paris is a very safe city as a whole, but as any famous tourist destination, you should watch out for pickpockets and scams. You should also void neighborhood of Gare du Nord and Gare de lEst in 10th Arrondissement and the district around Porte de la Villette, Marx Dormoy, Porte de Clignancourt, Porte de la Chapelle, La Chapelle in the northern 18th and 19th.

Paris is a big city, divided into twenty distinct districts, known as arrondissements, are arranged in a spiral, starting at the city center. That means that the lower the number, the more centrally located the district is. If you want to see as many interesting sights as possible, you should pick from districts one through nine.

Best Place To Stay In Paris With View Of Eiffel Tower

I have left the Arrondissement 7 a bit at the end of this post.

Why?

Because this is where you finally find the city icon, the Eiffel Tower.

What is everyones dream?

Probably waking up in the morning, opening the window and have the view of the Eiffel Tower.

Fantastic.till you find out that the view promised by the hotel is actually so small and far away and you can actually spot the tower only if you open the window and you stick your head out half a meter.

My tip is really to check photos and reviews before building a dream of a fabulous view.

Honestly, yes, you can find hotels with an open-end view but at a price, lux price. Its a privilege, its a unique view.

Besides the view, having accommodation in the Arrondissement 7 is actually a good idea as you will be steps away from the tower and the metro stations are well connected with any attraction in Paris.

With the Eiffel Tower view in mind, I personally suggest these 2 options, both meters away from the Trocadéro Metro station.

They are not actually in Arrondissement 7 but in the 16th, on the opposite side of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, facing the Trocadéro Gardens. And a great view of the tower and the famous roof skyline

The first option is the Hôtel Eiffel Trocadéro which is, in my opinion, one of the best bargains you can find in the city. It is a cosy hotel with less than 20 rooms. Try to catch a room on the 5th or 6th floor for a great view of the tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
