With the exception of hiring a private driver , then the easiest way of getting from Positano to Ravello is to first take a ferry from Positano to Amalfi. The journey will take around 30 minutes and you can check ferry schedules here.

Once youve made it as far as Salerno, you can take a taxi or pre-book a private transfer to Ravello. Like the taxi from Naples, however, this is pricey and could cost up to around 100 for an hours journey depending on if you hail a taxi, or book privately. Otherwise, you can get the local SITA bus, which departs from outside the train station . Bear in mind that you must take the bus to Amalfi first, and then transfer there for the final leg of the journey to Ravello.

On arrival to Ravello Carlo came to meet us with 2 umbrellas as it was raining and we parked in the car park, a short walk later and we arrived at the beautiful Rosa. The garden surrounding the accommodation is filled with homegrown fruit and vegetables. We were welcomed and introduced to the family who run the hotel. They met all our needs and more , from tea on arrival to snacks , they even ensured they were able to meet my dietary needs. We enjoyed our first night so much, we decided to book a 2nd night.

Also allow for ample time to explore the rest of the gardens, which truly are magnifcent, making sure to take in the Temple of Bacchus and its sweeping views onto the sea, the nearby town of Scala and the deep ravine that lies below.
