Visit The Sunflower + Wildflower Fields
If you happen to be visiting during June or July, they also have a sunflower trail. The trail is along Hwy 3049 off Grimmet Drive to Gilliam, which includes Sentell Road where these photos were taken. There was also a pick your own wildflower field less than a mile down the road. Get updates on all things Sunflowers HERE.
Shreveport Water Works Museum
The Shreveport Water Works Museum is a unique glimpse into days gone by. In addition to being a National Historic Landmark, it is also a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
The McNeill Street Pumping Station first opened in 1887 as the citys first water plant and was in use until 1980. Having the whole plant still intact after a century is a rarity in civil engineering of that time period.
The Smithsonian believes that the pumping station was the last operating steam-powered municipal water program in America.

Lucky Palace750 Diamond Jacks Blvd
One of my favorite restaurants in Bossier City is Lucky Palace.
Why? Well, did you know that Lucky Palace is a James Beard Semi-Finalist, has been featured in Garden and Gun Magazine, and is located in a seedy motel that rents rooms for $195 a week?
Yup, you heard me some of the best food in Bossier City is located in a building that advertises cheap hotel rooms by the week. But wait, there is more.
Not only does Lucky Palace have some of the best Chinese food in Louisiana, but the owner Kaun Lim also taught himself everything about wine and has one of the largest collection of wines.
Once you get inside of Lucky Palace, get ready to eat and drink to your hearts desire.
What to Order: Honestly, go with a big group and order as many things as you can! Everything that we tried was delicious, but you have to get the Appetizers Tray for 2.
You get to sample the eggrolls, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, chicken wing, beef on a stick, and fried dumpling.
Once you know what you want to eat for appetizers and dinner, make sure you order a bottle or two of their world-famous wine.
Days In Barcelona: Must Sees And Must Eats
Barcelona is a magical city perfect for the everyday tourist and long-term traveler. To be honest, I never thought about visiting Barcelona, it wasnt on my bucket list , however, when we booked a seven day Mediterranean Disney Cruise out of Barcelona, we opted to stay in this city for three days

I Liked The Margarita
I liked the Margarita – rooms were nice and there was food available. No one had maid service or valet. The covid 19 is no excuse. If you are so afraid of going into a room to straighten up, empty the trash and replenish towels, then you should close your doors. The casino paid nothing. To tell you the truth, I’m not coming back to Shreveport anymore. All the casinos are lacking and the food in the casinos was ridiculously expensive. We went to I-Hop – I could do that at home.Bye Bye
Why Choose A Shreveport
I LOVE visiting Shreveport / BC for a few reasons. I’ll keep this short and sweet because they sell themselves.
You drink for free when you’re gambling
There is no “ante” when you’re playing table games. For example, some casinos charge a fee to play each hand. The house keeps that no mater if you win, lose or push.

Having gained popularity because of their variety, escape rooms are one of the things groups love to do to bond, get to know one another, or even one-up each other when solving clues. Barksdale Global Power Museum
Located on Barksdale Air Force Base, the Barksdale Global Power Museum will take you on a journey through the past so you can learn about the history of Strategic Bombardment at the home of the 2nd Bomb Wing.
The museum is not only a memorial to their success in battle, but also recognizes the years spent trying to avoid war, too. Six different exhibition galleries here tell those stories.
Youll also see plenty of vintage aircraft here, like the B-17 and B-24 bombers of WWII, and Cold War heroes like the B-52D and B-52G Stratofortress. They also have the highest and fastest flying jet aircraft ever on display the MACH 3+ SR-71 Blackbird.
Note: Because the museum is located on an active military base, guests will need to complete a BARKSDALE AFB MUSEUM ACCESS PASS 30 days prior to their visit to the museum in order to visit.

Louisiana State Exhibit Museum
An artifact in its own right, the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum was finished in 1939 as part of the Public Works projects borne out of the New Deal. The ornate, circular building is home to 23 scale dioramas depicting life in Louisiana in the 1940s. Also in the museums collection are a variety of Native American pieces, historical relics of national and regional importance, as well as work by local artists and natural history exhibits.
The museums website also mentions former resident Charlie-Bob the Alligator. Charlie-Bob lived in the courtyard fountain among some turtles and fish from the 1950s until 2000. Charlie-Bob was relocated by the state to live at the State Fairgrounds which is down the road from the museum.

Watch And Bet On Horse Racing At Harrah’s Louisiana Downs
This was one of the most fun ways to spend the day. We enjoyed a private suite with a full bar and amazing food while we watched the day’s racing lineup. We even had our own private betting machines in the suite, plus a perfect view of the finish line. I love horse racing, and have even been to the Kentucky Derby. Add this to your list for some easy, safe, socially distanced fun.
