St Helena Is A Fantastic Quaint Town In The Valley

Love the feeling of being upvalley! Press, Market and Charter Oak are musts. Newcomer Charter Oak has probably one of the best melt in your mouth burgers I’ve ever had. Don’t miss this!

Where To Stay In St Helena Area

You will get a nicer place to stay in Napa or in Calistoga than in St. Helena for your price range.
Edited: 5 years ago
I like Vineyard Country Inn. I don”t consider the city of Napa a trade-off for St. Helena, and happen to prefer St. Helena to Calistoga, for what it’s worth.
The El Bonita Motel is the only budget option. It’s in a great location and they have a nice pool.
Harvest Inn is too much the El Bonita Motel is a nice option.
If you avoid Fri/Sat, the Wydown Hotel may be a good option within your budget: wydownhotel.com.

St Helena Is A Little Cheaper To Stay In Than Napa Or Sonoma
St Helena is a little cheaper to stay in than Napa or Sonoma and, I would argue, offers something a bit different – you can stay right amongst the vineyards and it has some of the best restaurants in Napa Valley right on your doorstep. Farmstead is the standout choice just outside of the town centre, but Charter Oak next door also gets rave reviews and there are more restaurants like Market and Cooks in St Helena itself that come highly recommended. And for quicker options, the bruschetta truck at Clif Family Tasting Rooms is fantastic and Gotts Roadside is great for a burger and milkshake in between your wine tours. On the vineyards themselves, there are obviously more to choose from than I could mention, but I would highly recommend Hall Wines with its large sculptured Bunny Foo-Foo out front – it is a very modern vineyard which mixes great wine and great art to fantastic effect.
