#5 Smell Scents In St Martin
Also, not too far away is Tijon Perfumerie where you can make your own personal fragrance, which I found intriguing. There is even a whole class given by the owner on a regular basis that teaches you everything you need to know about scents and how to choose your base scent and then build your personal perfume from there.
St Martin Vacation Packages
The northern French and southern Dutch sections of this Caribbean island offer an enticing blend of vacation enjoyment.
The island of St. Martin has two parts: the northern French St. Martin and southern Dutch Sint Maarten. Though divided by nationality, the entire island provides shared opportunities for great vacations. Relax on beaches surrounding the island, hike the 17 walking trails and enjoy exciting nightlife.
The full coastline encircling the island has beaches, in fact, 37 in total. Maho Beach is one of the most popular, partly for its clear waters and small sections of shoreline, but also as a great spot to watch planes arriving at Princess Juliana Airport. Rent beach chairs and purchase drinks from nearby bars. Then see adventurous watchers be blown away by jet blast.
Snorkel at Plum Bay and Galion Beach on mild days. Surf here when the ocean swells. Reef dive at Grande Cayes. Dive to Creole Rock at Grand-Case Beach. Mullet Bay has fine sand, good surfing and a convenient location near a golf course. For nude bathing, visit Orient Bay.
Cruise ships arrive in Sint. Maarten nearly every day of the year. Take advantage of the many duty-free shopping opportunities geared for tourists. Shop at the Boardwalk in Philipsburg and find high fashion in Marigots West Indies Mall.
Come to St. Martin for a great Caribbean vacation. Its like visiting two countries in one.
Things To Do In St Maarten
While the official name of the island is St.Maarten, there are plenty of nicknames for this dual-nation island with two sides. Some call it the The Resilient Island since its recovery from the wrath of Hurricane Irma in September 2017. Others call it the The International Island, given that St.Maarten is owned by the Netherlands. But remember, France governs the Northside of the island that they call St .Martin. Yet others like to call it The Sun-Soaked Island. So as you can see, there are plenty of names for this cute little golden and white sandy beach island that I fell in love with years ago.
Where To Take The Best Instagram Photo
A quick search of St. Maarten will likely turn up the infamous Maho Beach, which is known for its spectacular view of airplanes descending directly above it. But be extra cautious on this beach, and follow the warning signs because strong jet blasts can pose a risk to onlookers.

#3 Eat The Best Food In St Martin
Another cool place to visit on the French side is the town of Grand Case. This town was home to many restaurants before the hurricane hit the island in November of 2017. Restaurants such as Le Soleil, Ocean 82, Piazza Pascal, and Auberge Gourmande. Slowly, more and more restaurants are returning back to Restaurant Row in Grand Case.
I had a chance to have cocktails and eat at this fabulous French-owned restaurant called Barranco. It was super-French chic with a little African thrown in via the interior design and the beachside setting was simply gorgeous. Of course, it is the perfect spot for a sunset dinner.

Where Is St Maarten And How Big Is The Island
The island of St. Maarten is located in the Caribbean Sea, not too far from Puerto Rico. This dazzling island lies in the northeast section of the Caribbean. Since this island is owned by two distinct countries in Europe, France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
You might be asking yourself, how is this even possible? The answer is simple! The entire island is close to 34 square miles, and France owns 20 square miles of the land while the Netherlands owns the other 14 square miles. While it may seem unfair to have divided up the islands in uneven proportions, the population size for each island nation is similar.

Best Places To Stay In Sint Maarten Tips And Advice
Sint Maarten, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is situated on the southern half of the Caribbean island of St. Martin.
It is renowned among frequent visitors to the Caribbean as being a haven for vices of all kinds: plentiful, locally made rhum, casinos galore, many late-night clubs, and even some places to see a cabaret or burlesque show.
But what sets Sint Maarten apart from, say, Vegas, is the miles of pristine, white beaches that ring the island, and the exquisite Caribbean weather.
While the most popular activities for visitors to Sint Maarten are sunbathing, rhum tasting, gambling, and dining, its also a spectacular place to enjoy all manner of water activities, hiking, and even some adventure sports.
Most visitors schedule at least one outing on a boat. There are many options for this ranging from the simple public ferry that services Anguilla to exquisite yachts that are available to charter.
If youd like to try a day out on a sailboat or catamaran, Sailing SXM has a wide variety of options available, especially for groups. And the wild, high-speed Rhino Safari is a fun adventure that will take you speeding through protected waters on a speedboat to a secluded beach on the French side of the island.
Beyond the beaches, the interior of the island is filled with verdant hills and lush jungle. As eco-tours increase in popularity, companies like Seagrape Tours have been able to expand their offerings of hiking, trekking, and snorkeling tours.
