Final Thoughts On Where To Stay In Saint

Where to stay in Saint Tropez

Saint-Tropez is a stunning destination in France, but theres no denying that its super expensive. Thankfully there are a few great places nearby to help you visit the area on a budget. Its a really worthwhile destination regardless of the price, thanks to the stunning weather, ocean views, and romantic atmosphere.

If we had to choose, our favorite place in this guide would be La Croix Valmer! Its the most affordable area in the region and has plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Its also well connected to Saint-Tropez and other destinations along the French Riviera, so isnt even that much of a compromise.

That being said, if you really dont mind splurging, then Saint-Tropez Old Town is well worth the money. Port Grimaud is pretty mid-range when it comes to prices, but its a great alternative if you want a calmer vibe. We hope this guide has helped you narrow down your options.

Pampelonne Beach Where To Stay In Saint Tropez For Celebrity Spotting

Pampelonne Beach is the original Saint Tropez beach that made this area famous. In 1956, Brigitte Bardot shot the film And God Created Women here at Pampelonne Beach. Its still one of the best beaches in St. Tropez, with dozens of accommodation options, from camping to luxury hotels.

Club 55 has been a celebrity hotspot for more than 50 years, and was one of the first beach clubs in this area. While there are so many beach clubs in Pampelonne Beach, you might never want to leave, there is a regular bus service to Saint Tropez Old Town if you need a change of scenery.

Day : Beachside St Tropez

No trip to this glamorous coast would be complete without a visit to the legendary Club 55, a genuine landmark presiding over Pampelonne beach. After lunch, you may opt to spend the afternoon shopping or relaxing at your hotel. Enjoy a walk along the harbor with drinks at a hip bar before dinner reservations at an elegant seaside eatery.

Sentier Du Littoral: Scenic Seaside Path

This breathtaking coastal path begins just outside the old quarter of La Ponche and runs along the peninsula of Saint-Tropez. The Sentier du Littoral offers a pleasant way to explore the natural beauty of the shoreline and the seaside environment. The route incorporates rugged seaside footpaths, steps through the hills, and more gentle beachside trails.

For outdoorsy types, the Sentier du Littoral path can be approached as a half-day hiking trail. It is also possible to walk along portions of the path on the way to the beach. For instance, the trail leads to the Plage des Salins with its wide shoreline of fine sand and shady pine trees.

Along the way to the Salins Beach is the Crique des Salins and the tomb of Emile Olivier, former owner of the Château de la Moutte and last head of government under Napoléon III.

While hiking along this trail, visitors are asked to respect the environment by avoiding litter and refraining from smoking. It is also advised to wear hiking boots and to exercise caution when walking through sections of the trail at the cliff’s edge.

Chteau De La Messardire

Château de la Messardière was originally given to Henry Brisson de la Messardière and his wife, Louise Dupuy D’Angeac, on their wedding day. In 1904 it became a hotel, and the destination du jour for French aristocrats.

Over 100 years later, its gone through several renovations and generations of clientele. Yet its elegant essence, somehow, remains the same. As you wander its 30 hilltop acres, with expansive views of both the Bay of Pampelonne and the gulf of Saint-Tropez, you feel almost like an anachronism yourselfeven the gym is housed in a historic villa, set upon a manicured lawn, with a stone statue within view of the treadmill.

The pool, whose bottom is painted with the hotels emblem, serves as the hotels heart. Two restaurants, LAuberge de Mares and Bar 1904, sit in its vicinity, and on any given afternoon, its pulsating with lovey-dovey couples, chic families, and thirty-something friends looking for a calm respite from the night before. Off in a quiet yet scenic corner is the sushi restaurant Matsuhisa, which is popping up at the Château through October.

On the grounds is also quite the impressive kids club, complete with an arcade, movie theater, treehouse, and a trampoline.

The property also has a fleet of Rolls Royces thatll take you to and from town as well as to their beach club, Jardin Tropézina.

Things To See And Do In Port Grimaud:

Where to Stay, Play and Drink Rose: A South of France ...
  • Sip on cocktails, snack on crudités, and admire the sunset from the Mediterranean on this lavish boat experience.
  • Plage de Grimaud is a little more laid-back than other beaches in the area and is where you will find some of the best boat-hire companies.
  • Le Rialto is something of a local institution. They actually serve Italian cuisine, but youre sure to keep the whole family satisfied with a meal here.

After Several Years Of Holidaying Between Cannes And Nice

After several years of holidaying between Cannes and Nice, we were a bit late to book and ended up in Gassin, just next to St. Tropez. Traffic on the main road into and out of St. Tropez was the worst. Spent a lot of time in traffic jams. The town is tiny and one can get bored easily. We won’t be going back anytime soon.

What Happens If You Leave Fake Tan On Too Long

However, if you use self-tanning lotions with bronzers or other chemicals in them, these can turn your skin an orange cast if left on too long. Youll usually want to shower sometime between 3-10 hours after applying the tanner. Keep in mind that the color will darken even after you have showered.

Port Grimaud Best Area In Saint

Known as Little Venice, Port Grimaud is a small and peaceful town tucked away at the inner corner of the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Since its a little quieter, this is a popular option for families in the area. Its not cheap, however, youll find many of the restaurants and accommodations here dont reach the extensive rates of those in the heart of Saint-Tropez Old Town.

Its nickname comes from the many canals that can be found in the town. This explains why it is a major hotspot for yacht sailing and watersports in the region. You can hop onboard an organized excursion, or hire your own boat for exploring around the coast.

Ramatuelle Where To Stay In Saint Tropez With Family
