Vails Mountain Playground: Epic Discovery

Once you arrive at the top of Vail Mountain, the hardest decision will be what to do first. From speeding down the mountain on the Forest Flyer alpine coaster or tubing hill or flying through the air on a zip line, to testing your bravery on one of the ropes courses, there is something for kids and adults of all ages. Id recommend taking a break from the excitement and challenges to cool off in the Nature Discovery Center while exploring wildlife exhibits.
The views atop Vail Mountain are always spectacular. But in my opinion, fall is the most beautiful. If you can make it up mid to late September, you may just get to take in golden Aspen leaves as far as you can see.
This is our top pick of things to do with kids in Vail as you really wont find many other natural environments that combine an education of wildlife and nature with personal challenges, and just plain fun.

Lots Of Ski Terrain But Lots Of Walking To Get To Lifts From
Lots of ski terrain but lots of walking to get to lifts from parking and lodging and to connect to other lifts. Sharing walkways with auto traffic is a bad design. Need better transportation around the village and lodging to base areas. Expected more for the steep price of everything from lift tickets, lodging and food.

Our one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit had a nicely updated bathroom and kitchen, with a spacious living room and a nice balcony. The common areas of the complex were clean and well-maintained. Parking costs in Vail can be astronomical, so the included free parking in the underground garage was a great perk. You can get everywhere in Lionshead within a few minutes walk. If you don’t want to walk all the way to Vail Village, the free town bus will pick you up right in front of the property. The staff was pleasant, efficient, and helpful.
